The San Jose State Spartans women’s volleyball team cruised to a 3-1 victory over the New Mexico Lobos as they continue to compete under a shroud of controversy over having a transgender athlete on their roster.
Blaire Fleming, the player in question, led the way with 18 kills in the match. Brooke Bryant added 14 while Eda Koker, Emma Testi and Brooke Slusser each had nine. One of Fleming’s kills in the third set raised eyebrows on social media. San Jose State set Fleming up for the spike, and she nailed one down off of the Lobos’ libero.
The ball appeared to either go off of the Lobos player’s face or chest. The momentum took her backwards, and she fell to the ground. The point went to the Spartans. The play raised eyebrows on social media.
Last week, a similar play against San Diego State garnered attention after it appeared Fleming’s spike nailed an opponent in the face. However, San Diego State said that was not the case. "The ball bounced off the shoulder of the student-athlete, and the athlete was uninjured and did not miss a play."
Fleming’s inclusion on the San Jose State women’s volleyball teams has sparked a ton of controversy, leading teams to decide to forfeit matches and a lawsuit from one of Fleming’s teammates against the NCAA. Mountain West Conference Commissioner Gloria Nevarez said the controversy left her heartbroken.
"It breaks my heart because they’re human beings, young people, student-athletes on both sides of this issue that are getting a lot of national negative attention," she said. "It just doesn’t feel right to me."

Notice the Journal article says that its only allegations that the team has a transgender player.
Guess which player is the trangender woman. (Hint: It's not #10)

Oh, puh-leeze!
If a libero in college gets hammered in the face with a ball and knocked over, it’s nothing new or unusual. This particular trans guy isn’t that much better or stronger than a LOT of female hitters in the game.
The point is that he’s taking a place away from a female student-athlete on a female team sport.
The San Jose State Spartans women’s/FAG’s volleyball team.
Not a very friendly looking bunch.
#3
I agree with you. I was expecting the player to be large as is seen in the picture with swimmer Riley Gaines on the winners stand. In the current picture, though he is 6'1", he is not that much taller than several of the women.
You are correct. #3 is Blaire Fleming.
“The point is that he’s taking a place away from a female student-athlete on a female team sport.”
No the point is he’s a sicko pretending to be a girl and other sickos are enabling HIM.
No. 3...Looks like her shirt is long enough to cover up “the bulge”.
This guy wouldn’t make the team in men’s volleyball.
The problem is, if these rules are allowed to stand, it will give the 6'6" mentally defectives the ability to join in, too. If it has XY, they have to deny.
Not that much taller, but he jumps higher and spikes much, much harder. Watch films of his kills.
It is a matter of time before he injures a genuine female player, and he SHOULD NOT be playing in women’s sports.
#10 is Brooke Slusser who is his roommate. She is the one who has filed a complaint with the NCAA about gender men playing in woman's sports. Why she would continue to room with him is beyond me.
I think he's cute. If I didn't know better, I'd.........Till I discovered otherwise.
In this picture I would have thought it was #15 but I would guess wrong!
then you’d join the crying game
