Robot vacuums in multiple US cities were hacked in the space of a few days, with the attacker physically controlling them and yelling obscenities through their onboard speakers.
The affected robots were all Chinese-made Ecovacs Deebot X2s — the exact model that the ABC was able to hack into as proof of a critical security flaw.
Minnesota lawyer Daniel Swenson was watching TV when his robot started to malfunction.
"It sounded like a broken-up radio signal or something," he told the ABC. "You could hear snippets of maybe a voice."
Through the Ecovacs app, he saw that a stranger was accessing its live camera feed and remote control feature.

Whoa!
Mein ist ein Hoover und ist sehr gut.
Mazel Tov!
Hoover got a bad rap after the stock market crashed.
What could possibly be better?
A robot vacuum ( servant ) going back and forth cussing in a foreign language under it’s breath?
“That’s Manuel. He’s From Barcelona.”
The Castilian lisp would be the topper...
Que? :-)
Mazel Tov and Shalom to you.
Yeah. Old Herbert got a bum rap.(all us Republicans do.)
In 1938 Henry Morganthau told FDR that after all of the New Deal spending up to that point the Depression was still killing the country.
Democrats. Dumb as dirt.
Indeed. Mom thought FDR was great. I finally convinced her that his “programs” prolonged the Depression rather than alleviated it.
God bless you. My father went to his grave thinking FDR had been the Second Coming.
He was either unwilling or unable to see that all of the chaos that he and my mother were seeing when they were raising us in the ‘60’s was caused by the party they voted for.
The Depression was so traumatic to that generation...followed by WW2, The Atomic Age, Korea, Vietnam, Iron Curtain, etc.
Not to mention that my family were Boston Irish and worked for the kennedys.
Eek.
Who made who?
Worked for the Kennedys? Wow. Doing what exactly?
My people were all NJ Irish. Hudson County , NJ.
Tradespeople mostly. Bricklayers, stone masons, my dad’s people that is. They were from Belfast.
My mothers people were from Waterford. They were the ‘’Lace Curtain’’ Irish. They had education and did well. My late mother was an RN.
Domestic Servants at Hyannis.
Stockholm Syndrome.
We has lace curtains too. You had to wash them by hand, soak them in starch, and then stretch them out on “curtain stretchers” which took up the whole basement.
The bane of my existence was a fiercely Catholic(and slightly alcoholic) Irish grandmother who had me praying the Rosary every hour. "Come here to me ya heathen bugger!'' she'd yell. Oh man...
Oh, I see. What were the really like, the Kenndeys, ever hear any stories?
Lord Almighty if ever any bunch did more harm to this nation it’s that clan.
LOL! Well I walked into that one, didn’t I?
Oh Yeah...
My Irish Grandmother was very “progressive” about church.
If you were sick, and it was Friday, you would still get Chicken Soup.
