My friends, we have reached peak government inefficiency:

The government shipped up 3 pallets of electric chainsaws to us in a community without power
The original poster said his community in Little Switzerland, North Carolina, received these chainsaws from a U.S. Army Chinook helicopter ... and that it has been the only government assistance their community has received.

This is the only federal government response I've seen so far. Almost all the pallets we have received are donations coming in from citizens and orgs. Feds usually don't come this far up into the mountains

Despite that, he says the community really has no need for the government.

This is the exact opposite Katrina response: we have no federal help, but the community is self-organizing to save lives and help rebuild. There's no violence, barely any looting, and people are grateful.

I love it, but here's a radical idea: Imagine if we came together as communities and voted for people who would govern civil society and help us when natural disasters hit. Imagine if an entity like that existed. We could call it "govern-ment."
Surely, that entity would do the thing that it exists to do, right?
but electricity is magic
Saw lotsa kites in the sky....it’s the key to success in these mountain areas.
To be spotted easily?
no one is shocked. there’s no power.
Harris response: They have batteries, just run the chain saws off of batteries.
If you had a couple 100w solar panels, you could charge up a couple 18v batteries in a sunny day and gut 1 medium-to-small tree trunk or a half dozen limbs. heh.
Now...as to recharging the batteries....charging stages coming soon....lol
Jamaican/Indians aren’t familiar with how electric chainsaws work. Probably one of her student loan deadbeat “advisor’s” idea.
I got a Milwaukee cordless chain saw on sale because I already had several M18 batteries on hand. Handy saw for quick light-duty jobs but I have a gas-powered Stihl for the big jobs.
Peak stupidity will be when the government sends in the electric chain saws but when they unpack the saws, people find the government has sent electric leaf blowers by mistake.
(‘Currently’ - get it?) Har Har Har….
More Government DEI being displayed?
“Now...as to recharging the batteries.”
Harris Response #2: They have plenty of power available. All they have to do is take it from one of the big red things in their garage.
High ground always has a plus factor.
Batteries sold separately............HARBOR FREIGHT............
we got one battery to get this right...
timber
Maybe I have been sheltered all my life but I have never seen an electric chain saw ever.
I bet the govt paid $2000 per chain saw and someone was happy to unload a warehouse full of unwanted ELECTRIC chain saws. What’s next? Electric generators????
