A meteorologist and hurricane specialist has become emotional on TV as he described just how strong the hurricane heading for millions of people in Florida and Mexico has become.

John Morales told NBC 6 in South Florida that Hurricane Milton has become a Category five, with wind speeds almost tripling.

"It has dropped fifty millibars, in ten hours" he said, choking up in the process.

"I apologise, this is just... horrific."

He said he blames global warming and climate change for the increase in extreme weather.

Agreed. The climate is changing with multiple cycles occurring simultaneously.

We're currently in the Modern Warm Period (bottom graph's bump on the right) of the Holocene glacial (middle graph's bump on the right, which began maybe 12K years ago), of the Quaternary Glaciation/Ice Age (top graph's far right hook beginning roughly 2.5 million years ago).

Below are the ice age cycles from the past 2.4 billion years.

This graph below are the glacial cycles from the past half million years.

Last but not least are the cycles we've experienced roughly every 1,000 years. (I said "roughly".) Our Modern Warm Period has been going on for the past 2 centuries or so. If it lasts as long as the past 3 warm periods, we've got another 2 to 4 centuries of it before we enter another cooling period.

For me, I’m feeling a bit like I did watching “The Perfect Storm”. Ominous. I hope this doesn’t end up that way.

and just like that, the storm weakened like they all do...will probably hit Florida as a Cat 2 or 3...cause some heavy damage at the point of landfall, some flooding, power outages and then be gone. Now doesnt he feel stupid today?...

No original thinker he! Who among us would have thought so many “professions” would come to emulate Henny Penney.

"Strengthening"

Reality = weakening but the msm/dems always inverse the truth for the cause.

Turning out to be a very typical hurricane that instantly weakens upon landfall. The people of Tampa and surrounding are quite familiar with it. Newcomers to FL from NY might panic from the msm drama and clog I-75 because FL is about to disappear.

i dunno...you gotta be pretty dumb to die in a hurricane. Theres like days of advanced warnings, everybody knows whats coming. What happened in North Carolina is different, that came out of nowhere. But as for staying on the coastline with a hurricane coming...sorry,just plain stupid.

It’s revolting to continue to hear ostensible adults spout such fairy tales.

It’s absolutely disgusting. The hurricanes have generally been on the low side for over a century. I heard a meteorologist this morning who said something interesting which was that the sun is at solar Maximus, which is impacting our weather. As we know, sun cycles ebb and flow and there is not a damn thing man can to about it. I am inclined to place more weight on her assessment because my belief is that the sun is the principal determinator of our weather.

The mentally ill seem to be attracted to positions of influence. Mostly they are attention seekers but some are able to do real harm on our society.

It’s weakening as predicted. Now they predict it’ll speed up.
They say it’ll hit as a 3. Storm surges will be big.

I'm about 20 miles east of Tampa along the I4 corridor. We are 150 feet or so above sea level so storm surge won't be a problem unless Noah is somehow involved. TV coverage on Milton is good, but constant and often dramatic and it gets a bit tiresome of being told "You're this close to dying!!".

My house is concrete block built in 1955. It survived hurricane Donna and everyone that's come through since. We've done all our preps. I'm an old guy, pretty much past my biblical "use by" date. So, I'm not going to worry about it too much.
