I didn’t see that with my mom or dad...but I wasn’t with them all the time.
It’s certainly possible if a person is in increasing pain at the end.

I knew of a few who entered hospice on NO opiates ... no pain, so no need.
Yet, the hospice worker(s) were able to still ‘time’ their expected passing.

Yes, palliative drugs did, I’m sure, give her a nudge.

You have the right to refuse any medical treatment that may prolong your life.
You also have the right to change your mind.
I know someone who was vehement in how he was not going to have any surgeries once he reached seventy. He was just going to let nature take it's course. And then he had a major blood clot that would have been fatal if left and had surgery to remove it. His choice.
The only thing I will say is if you opt for an early exit do not put it on someone else. Your life. Your choice. Your hand. That burden belongs no where but on you.
Free advice and worth every penny.

I’m so sorry for your recent loss ... and, for her suffering ... and, for your father’s lingering suffering, too.

My hats off to you. I’m not a pickleball person but I do love hiking, swimming, kayaking, and such. And gardening, splitting wood, yard work, etc.
I love being outdoors. It makes me appreciate God and His Wonders. And I love having a great sturdy tent (our house) to protect me when I come indoors.
Truly blessed.

Well, I haven’t seen that, and the people I’ve known have died at home with home hospice care.
Let us know if you BEG them to up the dose.

“Would you want to do without the drugs if you were in horrible pain with no prognosis of survival?”
That is a question I have. Is it better to extend the life with less pain or shorten the life with more pain. Do we have the same amount of pain with the question of how best to endure it?

Thank you for that reminder!

If they (evil Dems) even think about Wellstoning Carter, before the election ... all folks have to do is see this most recent photo of him ... with his mouth drawn agape and completely unaware of his surroundings ... and, they’ll realize that it is all for show ... just like every other horrid thing these sick vipers do.

“I didn’t see that with my mom or dad...but I wasn’t with them all the time.“
I did. This is how I know.
And it’s not something you “see”.
It’s designed to be slow and gradual.
They use euphemism to get permission.
My Mom wouldn’t agree and they pressured her. Even sent a chaplain to talk to her.
It’s economic as much as anything.
