Major League Baseball legend and the sport's all-time hits leader Pete Rose passed away on Monday and his cause of death has now been revealed.
According to the Clark County Office of the Coroner/Medical Examiner in Nevada, Rose's official cause of death has been revealed to be heart disease.
Officials say Rose died from natural causes and that he'd also been battling diabetes.
Rose was found dead in his Las Vegas home on Monday afternoon by a family member.
He had just been seen the day before at a meet-and-greet in Nashville, Tennessee - where he appeared to be in good spirits despite being in a wheelchair due to back issues.

Afterthought put Shoeless Joe Jackson in. Shoeless Joe, never gambled on or threw a game. He was banned for life because he knew about trammates plans to throw the series, but never participated. A far, far less crime than Rose who bet on games he played in and managed in.
Air travel can be rough on an elderly person with health problems.

I agree. The part I found most disgusting about the gambling incident wasn't so much that he lied about it, but he also savaged and slandered John Dowd, who gathered the evidence and was proven to be 100% correct. Pete knew Dowd was correct, yet he tried to destroy his reputation at every opportunity for years. To my knowledge, he never apologized to him for that.
