Well I was hesitant in posting this, but I had the most vivid dream last night about being lost in a modern airport and everybody was nice to me and directed me the correct way, and a lady gave me a black cross key chain with a golden key.

I woke up, and yes make fun of me and I never knew the meaning of a black cross before, and I still consider myself a Catholic, am I nuts?

Flame away.

I never thought the color meant anything in particular. Cross is usually the color of what it’s made out of.

On the outside, a black one might indicate wood; which is the material Jesus was crucified upon.

Well I’m an Anglican priest. And I can tell you that I would not look too far or too deeply into this. You can run down a rabbit hole.

Yep. the “black cross” thing sounds like one of those “traditions of man” thingees. Frankly, I prefer magenta, but if someone else is buying, I always go for gold.🤣

Note: I’m not really into crosses at all. Or angels, or any other symbols, but I’m not judging those who are. We all have our own personal habits.

What a bizarre post. (Sorry) All about a cross but not a single mention of Jesus Christ or God.

The color of the cross is irrelevant. I wouldn't look into any hidden or secret meaning behind the color.

The real issue a person should think about when they see the cross is the sacrifice of Christ for our sins for those who believe in Him....and only Him.

Not a Catholic, but historically I thought the Knights Templar wore black crosses on their shields and cloaks.

If you did not know anything about black crosses before the dream, then the actual meaning of black crosses in general is irrelevant. What is important is what it signifies to your subconscious; what is your subconcscious trying to tell you?

The color of the cross in your dream might mean something, or it might not. The cross itself -- regardless of color -- might be the symbol that is important in your mind, or what's meaningful might just be the act of receiving a gift.

Or, perhaps you feel lost and the Holy Spirit is telling you that the way to find yourself is through the cross of Christ.

Put it out of your mind for while. The meaning might just jump out at you when you're not looking.

Hi, interesting, I thought there was some “not-good” thing about them. What about the Black Madonnas in Italy?

No, the Templars wore a red cross, indicative of their origin as a military order and combat force that would see its own blood spilled, if necessary for victory.

A cross is a cross. The symbolism is the shape. Does anyone know what color the cross was that Jesus was crucified on?

I’ve often wondered why the tomb with the stone removed didn’t become a symbol of christianity.

While the cross symbolizes Christ’s sacrifice and death for our sins, the empty tomb symbolizes his deity and our own rebirth through his sacrifice.

At least to me.
