Punchy De Niro once again mistakes movie premiere for anti-Trump protest

Friends don’t let friends invite Robert De Niro to their movie premieres.

Director Francis Ford Coppola learned that lesson the hard way this week. The Hollywood icon debuted “Megalopolis,” his audacious new film starring Adam Driver and Jon Voight, before select IMAX audiences nationwide Monday.

Coppola introduced the film personally via a livestream Q&A prior to the screening featuring longtime pals De Niro and director Spike Lee. Neither is involved with the project, but both share long, personal ties with the director.

The event was meant to honor both Coppola and his latest film, but De Niro and Lee turned the event into a Trump roast.

They took turns torching the GOP favorite and demanding audiences vote against him come Nov. 5. If you’ve heard De Niro speak over the past seven-plus years, you know exactly what he said.

Different day. Same script. Yawn.

He’s done this shtick before. Team Apple edited the anti-Trump comments from his 2023 speech on behalf of the studio’s “Killers of the Flower Moon” event. Silly Apple. The company wanted the focus to remain on the movie, not the costar’s political obsession.

The actor raged against Trump anyway (and Apple for telling him what NOT to say).

At this point, De Niro needs to be given the Hannibal Lecter treatment at public events. Tied to a gurney. Face covered in a protective mask so he can’t spout his Trump rhetoric. Or, if you have a movie to promote, keep De Niro in front of the camera where he belongs.

No resemblance to the young actor he once was. He now looks a drunk troll with ears and a nose bigger than his hands.

Ha ha ha - these ‘betters’ don’t know how to keep the turds out of the punchbowl. Pathetic.

He has become a Has Been Actor who takes movie roles to continue funding his lifestyle and his ex-wife’s huge alimony payments, she gets $100,000 a month prepaid to her Amex Card for her to spend and who knows what else.

I can’t think of the last really good film he was in, maybe Ronin and Heat. I once saw 15 minutes of Dirty Grandpa and had to turn it off it was so disgusting.

I didn’t think much of the Irishman either, the only good actor in that film was Joe Pesci and he should have had an Oscar Nomination for that role.

I’ll bet Diddy has some dirt on De Niro.

He’s got the most severe case of TDS I’ve ever seen. Shouldn’t be too long before he goes totally off the deep end.

That taking any old movie role primarily to pay alimony, sounds like the last 15 years of Marlon Brando’s career.
In Marlon’s case, he needed to keep paying for his private island plus child support.

You’d think a guy like De Niro would learn something from one of his crime dramas, and would simply keep his mouth shut 🤐. Those who scream the loudest have something to hide.

I remember Heat and thought it was goofy.

I have absolutely no positive recollections of De Niro where I can say that I’m disappointed in who’s he revealed himself to be. On the hand, ‘Jack Ryan’ proved to be a disappointment, but Baldwin’s pathetic descent was in plain sight over the course of decades.

Bobby had better enjoy his wealth and power while he still can. His eternity won’t be so enjoyable.

Mickey Rourke was wrong about Donald Trump but right about Robert De Niro. Punchy is one big crybaby.

Ronin was the last thing he was good in.

He’s a severe TDS suffer these days.

What’s behind Bobby DeNiro’s acute case of TDS? The man’s seething rage is clearly way beyond mere partisanship. Something else is clearly going on here.

Let’s take a peek behind the curtain... The actor’s father, Robert DeNiro Sr, was reportedly a flamboyant homosexual painter who essentially abandoned DeNiro and his mother to pursue a lifestyle of sexual relationships with men. OJ Simpson’s old man swung the same way, and we know how OJ turned out. Both Bobby and the Juice grew up to be severely angry, abusive, misogynistic men.

Say what you want about Donald Trump, but it’s obvious to one and all that the man is an alpha patriarch who takes care of a large family. Might not Bobby DeNiro see as Trump the embodiment of paternal paradigm that was absent in his own life and thus hate him for that reason?
