Alex Jones’s Infowars Will Be Auctioned Off to Pay Sandy Hook Families

A Houston bankruptcy judge ruled on Tuesday that assets from the conspiracy theorist Alex Jones’s Infowars empire can be auctioned off to help pay families of the Sandy Hook mass shooting victims the defamation awards he owes them.

The auction, set for mid-November, will include Infowars’ website, social media accounts, broadcasting equipment, product trademarks and inventory owned by Free Speech Systems, Infowars’ parent company.

Mr. Jones’s fate as a broadcaster most likely depends on who buys his business. Though the Infowars name and assets are potentially of interest to a range of entities on the far right, under the terms of the sale anyone can bid.

So, Sandy Hook was a false flag and the parents and children were paid actors?

Worth a billion dollars? I consider awarding a *BILLION DOLLARS* to be clear proof that they did not accurately weigh the "harm" against the punishment.

This is robbery under the guise of legality, and everyone involved in this is a criminal so far as i'm concerned.

granted the relatives are entitled to some damages, but this latest trend of levying a billion???? or even tens of millions is so way out of line as far as punishment fitting the crime. Somebody has got to get a handle on this runaway train. It’s just not right.

This award should result in punishment for everyone involved in levying it. This is extreme and ridiculous, and this award demonstrates they did not take their duty seriously, or that they are mentally incompetent to preside over a case of law.

This is like punishing someone for slapping you by shooting them in the stomach. It is *WAY* beyond any perceived injury, and it is clearly only intended to shut up the man and dissuade others from speaking out on national issues in the way Alex Jones does.

And there was no way that the plaintiffs suffered the damages that were awarded just for hurt feelings.

I consider everyone involved in levying such ridiculous awards to have shirked their duty and made a mockery of the process. Everyone involved in that needs to go to prison for contempt. The trial should be tossed out, because clearly anyone who would award such a ridiculous punishment cannot be objective when it comes to the facts of the case.

That Jury needs to suffer the pain they sought to impose on Alex Jones. Unfortunately the best we can do is put them in prison for refusing to do their job seriously.

It sounds like they literally took the Alex Jones name and turned it over to someone else. Even his social media accounts. Even the ones that say “Alex Jones”. So someone else can now spew whatever they want on those accounts and do in Alex Jones name. That is pretty evil right there. I would hope that Elon would shut down and ban any of those accounts on twitter after Alex Jones loses control of them.

You’re right: Mr Jones was being an ass - but he’s probably right, you know, about Sandy Hook.

I mean, people like to say that the World Trade Center attacks were “staged” and so on - I’m starting to believe some of it, but here’s the thing:

JUST BECAUSE SOMETHING IS STAGED DOESN’T MEAN THAT NO INNOCENT PEOPLE ARE GOING TO DIE AND THEIR FAMILIES ARE NOT GOING TO BE DESTROYED OVER IT.

Think of the Las Vegas concert shooting. It was hokey as h3ll, but a lot of nice, innocent, fun-loving folks were killed in a terrible tragedy, regardless of whether it was a “lone gunman” or a conspiracy. (That’s what makes it work! They’re not afraid to destroy as many innocent lives as necessary, and more besides, just to complete the illusion!)

I feel really bad for poor Mr Jones but he should have kept his piehole shut for a few minutes and done some thinking first before he starts telling grieving parents that their kid’s tragic death wasn’t real.

And your point about the class-action lawsuit is getting stronger by the day, but here’s the thing:

There are lots of traitors, crazies, and FEDS claiming that they’re part of MAGA. (Which is nothing unusual, just pointing it out.)

Just like some guy on twatter was pointing out about Laura “Loomer” Woods and that she’s supposedly suing a TV personality for saying mean things about her: If you want to sue someone for defamation or libel or whatever and have any hope for winning, YOU HAVE TO HAVE A REPUTATION CAPABLE OF BEING DEFAMED. (Which is not the case with the #Lauravirus at all!)

So, dropping a lawsuit is a jolly idea - I’m all in favor of it. However, before scheduling your first appointment with a nice lawyer, think first and have a few informal discussions with sympathetic friends and those whose opinions you value before proceeding.

MAGA as a totality may deserve, probably deserves redress for the many offenses against it.

But there are a lot of termites in the MAGA woodpile. Not just people who aren’t, like, loyal or whatever, but people who are out-and-out shanks and psychos. (Like Laura “Loomer” Woods.)

Apply Qwell(TM), wait for the recommended amount of time, and then use that little bitty fine-toothed comb first. Repeat treatment may be necessary!

What exactly do you think he said? Not what did the news media tell you he said, but what do you know for a fact that he said?

Think about something, if he actually certain what they claimed he did, definitively saying it was a false flag, wouldn’t that film clips be showing 25 times a day and be widely available? It would be the ultimate smoking gun. Yet, they never show up with a video.
