Tried to apply today, but they require a cell phone number to 'verify' the applicant and begin the process. When I said that I don't have a cell phone by choice, they suggested I borrow a friend or family member's phone to confirm my identity!!! Wait --- you're going to verify MY identity with a friend or family's cell phone number??? For a credit card??? Exactly how??? No way to apply without some cell phone number from somewhere/anywhere that receives text messages from somewhere or someone. What a potential source of identity theft. They assured me repeatedly that I can access my account and do business with them without a cell phone after the initial application, and that the cell phone will not have access to my account in any way, so why do they need a cell phone that isn't even mine to start the application. What part of that is "conservative"??? And how is it possible that a company can require you to have/borrow/use a piece of equipment in order to create an account to do business with them when it is not required, by their own admission, to actually do business with them.
When I couldn’t find the interest rate on the website, I stopped there.
I’ve encountered businesses that demand that I do business on a cell phone. If I explain to them that I don’t want to do that, and they still insist, we find another business.
We’ve already closed one account because we just can’t deal with that company. It’s bad enough that they demand a cell phone number; but increasingly these companies make it impossible to actually talk with a HUMAN. When you can it is often a foreign person whose English is difficult to understand. (And they don’t respond to letters sent in the old fashioned mail.)
I love my Coign Card
I love my Coign Card
I love my Coign Card
Not sure what happened there, but sorry for the tri-post
what a wonderful way to identify staunch conservatives for that future day of receiving an identifying mark that allows people to buy and sell...just before your card is revoked and no one else will provide you with a way to buy or sell. gun registrations, cell phone providers and credit card suppliers are all in the business of providing information to the establishment. pretty sure they’re working on a way to identify the “off gridders” too. you can run but you can’t hide forever UNLESS you know the right guy. it’s all written out and not hard to understand. as someone said...”there is only one overarching question each proclaiming Christian must ask themselves, do you believe IN God or do You BELIEVE God?”. Jesus stated that the devils believe IN God and they tremble but that same book says Abraham BELIEVED God and it was accounted to him for Rightousness. only you can honestly answer this question but don’t fool yourselves with a flippant answer for every idle word you speak you will need to account for. just a reminder for the Bible Believing Christians.
Man, I like the way you think! I wish more would make a stand against this crap! We are being conditioned and trained to just freely give up information we should not give up. Or use services we should not have to use to do business.
Good on you for being a nonconformist! Things would change if more stood up against it!
Our information is already out there. Cybersecurity is like government accountability.
Then THEY leaked it. Not me. If I do not give it out then NO ONE should have it. If I do give it out then that gives them plausible deniability. There is only one outside party that has my real number and it is my bank. I have NEVER set up any accounts that require a phone number. I walk away and can live without it. Walmart asked for a phone number and valid ID to buy a money order the other day. Why? I asked if it was a law because even the post office doesn’t ask for that, no... just store policy. What kind of idiot would even do this just to buy a money order? This country has gone absolutely stupid. I inconvenienced myself and walked out and went elsewhere.
You can just give in and conform to the slavery and stupidity if you like, I absolutely refuse to.
They say on their front page that they’ll use your cell number to text you marketing materials - in short, they’ll sell or trade your number to spammers.
It’s a Visa card issued by (or through) MRV Bank. Looks like they have 5 branches in Missouri. “At MRV Banks, we contract with fintech companies, servicers, and processors to offer our customers a range of general use and private label credit cards.”
So it isn’t really clear who you would actually be dealing with if you got one of their cards.
If your screen name means you are a retired Lt. Col., then maybe you should look at USAA. If it means you are a retired truck driver for a less than truckload carrier, I don’t have any suggestions.
Been with USAA 40+ years. Just liked the concept of a CC supporting the conservative issues.
Another scam?
Exactly. And when the offers come from blood banks for the non-vaxxed to sell their plasma/blood they'll capture the rebels in that fashion, too. You watch.
