COVID-19 vaccine-associated myocarditis (C-VAM) has a mild initial clinical course, but myocardial injury is common, according to a study.
Supriya S. Jain, M.D. and colleagues examined the clinical characteristics, myocardial injury, and longitudinal outcomes of C-VAM.
A total of 333 patients aged 30 years or younger with C-VAM were compared to 100 patients with multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C). The presence of myocardial injury as evidenced by late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) on cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging was the primary outcome.
Patients with C-VAM were mainly White (67%), adolescent (age, 15.7 ±2.8 years) males (91%). The researchers found that compared with MIS-C, the initial clinical course of C-VAM was significantly more likely to be mild (80 versus 23%) and cardiac dysfunction was less common (17 versus 68%). LGE on CMR was significantly more prevalent in C-VAM than MIS-C (82 versus 16%).
The probability of LGE was significantly higher in male and older patients and when C-VAM occurred after the first or second versus the third mRNA vaccine dose. At a median follow-up of 178 days, midterm clinical outcomes of C-VAM were reassuring. In 60% of patients, LGE persisted at follow-up.
"While midterm clinical sequelae are rare and LGE severity decreases over time, the persistence of LGE at follow-up in most patients warrants continued clinical surveillance, additional research, and longer-term studies in this subset of patients," the authors write.

Folks, I would never encourage giving a COVID-19 vaccine shot to younger people. The doctors who visit on Free Republic have all stated the same, from what I have ever seen, however, we do have some other FReepers who have felt otherwise.
The who premise “we must mRNA vaccinate the young, to protect the old” has no basis in studies. The vaccine does not protect from getting covid.
Is there any rational reason for vaccinate the subsets of the population who are not likely to be harmed from the covid virus?

The Medical Establishment was even saying that if you had a COVID-19 vaccine, but had wound up with a COVID infection, you could still show up for work—at hospitals! You were assumed to be non-infectable.
I have several examples of hospital chains that put that out, in old bookmarks.
Alito pointed out in the oral arguments in January ‘22 that the rule was stating it was intended to protect the UNvaccinated from the vaccinated , or other unvaccinated, which is definitely not the way the press tried to misinform the public at the time. The Harris and Biden disinformation mythology about the total protection vaccines provided was just beginning to evolve at that point, and of course that original disinformation is holy writ in the minds of most Harris voters, no doubt.

the vast majority of folks who died from covid were the elderly who had 4 or more comorbidities- young people had a near zero chance of dying from the disease- and the vaccines would not prevent the young folks from gettign covid and passing it along to the sick and elderly- so what was the purpose of the vaccine for kids?
What we need to see are %’s for dying from covid for 1 The very young, the young, middle age, and elderly, plus a category for each where comorbidities are factored in
I’m guessing that even among the elderly with 4 or more comorbidities, the chance of dying from covid was still pretty small, but significantly more than the young, middle age, and very young-
It woudl have been nice IF honest records were kept too- but that is not what happened as the medical community/gov changed the diagnosis of “Died WITH Covid” to “Died FROM Covid” if the person had covid when they died- That fact alone artificially increased the death numbers in order to panic people into gettign the vaccines, people who didn’t need them! (and also to falsely justify their lockdowns and mandates, and firings)
I’ve seen articles that state that the true numbers of folks who died FROM covid were no more than folks who died from regular flue each year- Don’t know if that is true, but i suspect it is-
the thing is though that vaccines never did protect the unvaccinated, nor the vaccinated from gettign covid
The sick and elderly with comorbidities who were all vaccinated practically (Those in nursing homes were mandated to get the vaccinations), still got covid and died- and they likely got their covid from the staff who were also mandated to get the vaccine, and who were mandated to wear masks-
in the case of cuomo though in ny- he intentionally send sick covid patients from hospitals into nursing homes, without segregating them, knowing full well it woudl result in many more deaths of the vulnerable- IF he didn’t know, then he was the most inept ‘leader’ ever-
Kids were mandated to get vaccines in order to attend schools- and the excuse was that they might get covid and then pass it along to the sick and elderly outside of schools who might then die from it- Yet from every report i read while covid was going on, covid had no higher a risk factor for dying than other flues- The chance of surviving if old was something like 99.4% or so- flue was right aroudn the same i believe-
The sick and elderly die every year from regular flu- because they have 4 or more comorbidities, and can’t cope- but that is no reason to mandate that everyone else be vaccinated- there are steps that can be taken to cut down on the deaths of the comorbid patients -
What Covid did was set into pneumonia quickly with compromised patients who did not treat it.
agreed- the only ‘good’ thinkg that came out of it was that folks who die from pneumonia die peacefully, and if they had several comorbidities, it might have been a blessing for them- as their comorbidities mighta been tough to die from- BUT- still, it never should have happened to begin with- The elderly shoudl have been protected by stricter safety protocols regarding those who served them- that shoudl have been our nation’s first priority- not going after perfectly healthy people, making them suffer-
The amount of sufferign that the perfectly healthy population went through is incalculable- businesses ceased to exist, families were forced to find other employment, companies cut staff way down- hospitals and health clinics are still woefully understaffed to this day- on and on it goes-
Maybe the Mis-C patients were still being treated with anti-inflamatories reducing even heart damage from the spike proteins and clots?
