I probably ran into you back during that time period. The Nick was my friends’ and my go-to spot back in the day. Missed Jane’s Addiction but saw many fun acts there,
The can always hire that nitwit Dave Grohl.
I heard he’s looking for a 2nd job to feed his new bastard child.
That’s rock n roll man. In my first band the second guitarist walked all over my lead part during a gig because he though he played it better. I walked across the stage and punched him in the face.
Saw Sammy Hagar recently with his band that included Michael Anthony, Joe Satriani, and Jason Bonham. All are over 50, but they put on a great show.
I saw the footage from the Boston show the day after, and there was no reason for Perry to do what he did to Dave.
Dave was just playing what he was supposed to and seemed surprised and disappointed by his bandmate's behavior.
As others have said, if he had a problem with the mix, he should have directed his anger toward whoever was working the sound board that night.
Thanks
That reference was as to who performed the ???? song with the ???? band in 1994 or 1995
It was one of the two - I just don’t remember except I really liked one of their songs - maybe it was after Perry left JA
Everybody has their own opinion....
Serious help needed for perry
If people go and start digging around the singers of the their favorite songs, they may not have many favorite songs left :)
I love a lot of GnR songs.
But probably the makeup of a person who sings songs with title like “Back Off B####” “My Michelle” about a porn star gone mainstream, “Mr. Brownstone” heroin dealer,
“One in a Million” just read the lyrics....isn’t gonna be the person you want to share Sunday dinner with :)
The band said they were concerned about his mental health among other issues....
..no need to figure out what his excuses are ..the man is most likely unhinged and anything can set him off...
Heâs repressed gay man is my guess
Strange
I do like their live stuff
For sure the love and rockets era
And oddly Floydâs pulse anthology CD around the same time with the blinking light
That super long Jane Says rendition with the steel Trinidad drums extended opener is truly great
Man I was 30 to 35 at their peak
Itâs a strange perspective looking back now versus music from the 60s for me in grade school and junior high
Several of their songs are on our âmood musicâ playlist lol
Yeah, he always set off my gaydar. especially the “Pets” video.
Fair enough, but sound engineering failures are a reality — and that includes stage monitors & amps.
The chronology of music for me dates back to around 63/64 first and second grade with first Beatles stones kinks beach boys and one hitters like wooly bully and psychotic reaction and Louie Louie etc
I vaguely recall mom with E and buddy holly and Carl Perkins and her favorite little Richard when she would been late 20s
Dad was opry and post wwii band music
Tubb Snow Acuff Loretta and Tommy and Hank Thompson and cash and wills all pre outlaw and pre Chet mixing actually
My formative most impactjve years say 9-17 or so was also Rocks peak with best stones for sure and when metal and southern rock just started aged 16 maybe
Psychedelic went country at the end too folks tired of the work of tripping and wanting something more grounded in familiarity as a musical collective if that makes sense
My first albums after having bought only 45s for my portable RCA PLAYER were surrealistic pillow and bookends
Later music on till around 2000 is still newish to me
Itâs funny how it works to your ear and memory
Don’t get me wrong, I like the Who but I always cringed when they destroyed their instruments.
As a wannabe musician I always thought that was such a waste.
I remember seeing a video of her on stage singing with her daughter, China and like a 9/11 Charity event. Chinaâs dad was on stage too playing the guitar. Grace was dressed up a burka and then threw it off and started singing. I tried to find the video but I couldnât. Regardless that was probably a one off, because I never heard her on tour since Jefferson starship I guess
I went there fairly often for a period of time, so I am sure we did cross paths in some way.
she’s great... chester bennington committed suicide... the band moved on...
Not during a performance.
