Hillary Clinton has as much experience as any Democrat in debating Donald J. Trump.
The 2016 presidential campaign, when she was her party’s nominee, included three of the six general-election debates Mr. Trump has participated in. Those faceoffs went a long way toward shaping the country’s vision of his candidacy and what he would be like as president.
Mr. Trump, of course, went on to win the 2016 election — an outcome that still haunts Democrats.
When Mrs. Clinton called this week to discuss her old debate coach, Karen Dunn, who is helping out Vice President Kamala Harris this time around, I took the opportunity to ask about her experience on the debate stage with Mr. Trump.
“The consensus was that I won all three debates and that I was well prepared,” Mrs. Clinton said.
Here are excerpts from our conversation, which have been lightly edited and condensed.
What do you remember about your own preparations to debate Donald Trump?
It was the first debate when Trump literally ridiculed me for preparing. This was not something we had thought about beforehand, because who thought we could be ridiculed for preparing for a presidential debate in front of 85 or 90 million people?
So basically I said, yeah, I did prepare. And I’ll tell you something else I prepared for: I prepared to be president. Because I had the confidence. I knew the material. I felt comfortable. I also knew I had to brush Trump back and not let him be the center of attention all the time.

If you have to "prepare" for a debate, it means you have no core beliefs and are molding your policies to conform to what the latest focus groups tell you to say.
Trump doesn't have to prepare because there are videos of him from 35 years ago saying the exact same things he is saying today. He says what he actually believes.

Considering all that Trump has been through, I don’t doubt that he could be rattled. There must be certain details that if known, could be used to trigger an angry, perhaps intemperate response.
This is characteristic of persons who have lived through traumatic events, and over the last eight years of persecution, I assume Trump has been traumatized to a measurable degree. His treatment by the media and the political establishment has been a true crime, a crime against humanity.
Trump is going to be completely cool calm and collective..just like he did with Biden, he knows they have NO agenda to run on except communism, which most people with a functioning brain don’t want..so like I said before, Trump can say “You can throw as many insults at me as you like I can take it, what I can’t take is the fact that in 3 1/2 yrs you have destroyed this once great country, inflation, crime, open borders, the economy is in the toilet, but hey, if it makes you feel big by insulting me knock yourself out”
Kamala may be dumb... But she’s not dumb enough to take advice from Presidential loser Clinton.
One nice thing this time is that Trump has some good attack dogs in the form of RFK Jr and Tulsi.

The only thing I remember from the Trump-Hillary debates is:
It came as the Democratic nominee said it is “awfully good that someone with the temperament of Donald Trump is not in charge of the law in our country.”
Trump blasted back, “Because you’d be in jail.”
I loved it
All Trump has to do is bring up the fact that all Harris has are insults and he can say directly to the camera “tell me, is this the kind of person you want making decisions for our great country, just look at her, all she has are insults, she says NOTHING about what she is going to do for the american people because she has no plan, she wont even be the one running the country it will be the Dem machine running things, she’s just their useful puppet”
Trump doesnt get rattled
he counterpunches
He knows what he is talking about and how to get his point across.
In debates, his only real weakness is his presentation style , which turn off some voters.
The Biden muted mike debate, split screen and no audience rules really play to his advantage because they prevent him from using the presentation style that turns off some voters.
LOL! But you lost the election to him!
