Marijuana Is Too Strong Now

As weed has become easier to obtain, it has become harder to smoke.A strange thing has happened on the path to marijuana legalization. Users across all ages and experience levels are noticing that a drug they once turned to for fun and relaxation now triggers existential dread and paranoia. “The density of the nugs is crazy, they’re so sticky,” a friend from college texted me recently. “I solo’d a joint from the dispensary recently and was tweaking just walking around.” (Translation for the non-pot-savvy: This strain of marijuana is not for amateurs.)

LOL - I’d never heard that before. And I love Willie being a good sport - just grinning away at those lyrics.

Yeah, but FR’s own brain dead libertarians and stoners will extol the virtues of the drug. Morons.

The Marijuana being sold quite legally in some states is definitely not the “ditch weed” of our college days, but a carefully cultivated and hybridized plant bred to increase THC levels. The physical and psychological effects of frequently using this, what can only be called a drug, are not fully known. States like Minnesota that rushed into legalizing Marijuana sales may quickly come to realize that the the societal costs of in essence encouraging drug use are very high

When you read about the 1960s the “sickly sweet” odor of marijuana always comes up. It hasn’t smelt that way in years. Now it smells more like a skunk, and not a live, healthy skunk either.

After not smoking any in over 50 years I tried a joint. No thanks, way to strong.

Why would you do that?   About twenty years ago I read of a Scandinavian study that warned older people that had quit toking for years and tried to smoke it again were at risk for heart attacks and strokes.

But way back in the day, when I had moved away, I found that it wasn't the same when the friends were not there.

The evidence in your post and comments to your post aren’t getting out to the people of FL ahead of the proposed marijuana constitutional amendment this November.

Unless this changes, passage is certain.

Indicas are the disabling varieties due to their secondary cannabinoids and turpenes. Oddly some people prefer that disablement.

You're bring back memories.   Those were the guys who loved soapers.

If Keith Richards can give up drugs and alcohol, theoretically so can I.

Re: "Incrementalism is impractical"

I disagree.

If you do not know the strength of the marijuana, take one half hit, or a quarter hit, or exhale after 5 or 10 seconds, until you figure it out.

Same story with alcohol...

If you do not know what you are drinking, take small sips, and wait, until you figure it out.

My last employer did random drug testing. Whenever I was at my brother’s house
I had to ask him to please wait until I was gone, or we went outside to light up.
I was afraid the second-hand smoke would cause me to test positive ar work.

So being raised in a Christian family keeps one from developing what’s quite often a genetic brain disorder?
