The "Paradise" called El Salvador
Time Magazine ^ | August 29, 2024 | Vera Bergengruen/San Salvador

I told them, "Don't just take my word for it, because of course I'll speak positively about us and the government. But you're already here—you've got your cameras, paid for your plane tickets, booked your hotel rooms, and set up your internet. You've got everything: the people, the photographers, and the video cameras. Go to the streets. Ask people and don't go where--"

"Yes, go there, but don't limit yourselves to the most public or prominent places where the government might have some influence. No. Go anywhere. It is so safe that you can walk into any dark alley without any problem. Go to a community—head into a rural area without many people. You might hear a dog barking in the distance, but that doesn't matter. Go anywhere, ask the people. It will be rare if you find a negative opinion among the population."

I do not read Time at all. However, I do enjoy hearing about what Nayib Bukele has done in El Salvador. Imagine, if what he has done there were done here in the USA, how much stress would be lifted from the shoulders of Americans.

What kind of economic transformation could we expect in America if, once again, it was safe to leave the front doors unlocked and the windows open?

If it’s so great there, why are all the migrants still coming here?

I do not believe all of the migrants coming here are from El Salvador. People I know personally who have been there over the past 10 years say, to a person, the positive change is dramatic, awe inspiring!!

I imagine El Salvador is a lot safer now - b/c all the violent gang members were either jailed or pushed into the US.

There’s a lot of gang bangers packed like sardines in their new prisons. We need to give them the aid to construct more and take back the ones that are here. The recent YouTube video suggested there are 40k of them locked up . How they don’t riot is beyond me. If that’s what it takes we should be all for it.

If you are a ganster, trying to stay out of prison, America is a great choice of destinations.

Exactly….

Bukele lowered the crime rate???

How was that done?

By locking up MS13?

Participation in the 2024 version of the Mariel Freedom Float? Just like Maduro and others, emptying prisons and telling them to head north, where nothing will happen to them?

Telling MS13 that if they leave El Salvador, they’ll be free?

Apparently, the Venezuelan gang in Aurora has formed a coalition with MS13

Sure he did. Sure.

Are they all still in those prisons?

Have some been “rehabilitated” and released? Were they allowed, upon release, to go where they want? Leave the country?

SMDH…

I had a tenant from there and she told me the change is 180 to the good. Great tenant and solid Trumper.

Great job copying and pasting. You get a Gold Star.

Global leadership has perfected propaganda.

Has he arrested, jailed and continued to imprison all of them?

Have the ones that avoided arrest, with a wink and a nod, told that there’s a better life for them if they head north.

El Salvadorans are still flooding the southern border.

Amazing the BS people believe. Time magazine, no less

I have no evidence they were released.

If you do, please post.

Because there are a lot of people coming that aren’t from El Salvador, and El Salvador doesn’t give illegals from other countries the incredible financial benefits we do.

How they don’t riot is beyond me.

I get the impression they're afraid to riot. If they ever cease being afraid to riot, the guards will have to kill a whole lot of them.

Shows us the El Salvadorian numbers now crossing.

I would suggest those crossing are criminals trying to get away from the severe punishments in El Salvador.

Police know how to stop crime. Its not difficult

The question is: does the government want to?
