Officers seized claw machines, laptops, tablets, cell phones, a firearm and — yes — furry friends. They are investigating whether organized crime groups may be the invisible hand behind the claw...

They give kids an offer they can’t refuse. Cheap tries for a plush toy. 🧸

As a Dad that’s raised 4 kids, Man I hate those things. They offer the illusion of a quick win and a toy to the kid, but the reality is they drain you dry of loose change and you leave with a whining/crying child that will be talking bout going back with more change to get their toy that’s still in there. Pocket change pirate.

You can’t even call them “claws”. They are dangling dactyls. They pick up nothing.

When I was young, there was a movie theater that had multiple machines, but one in the corner actually had tension in the claw so we got excited. We got so many stuff furies out of there we got tired of it, and realized that even for as little as a few quarters, it wasn’t really worth getting the cheap toys, let alone always losing all the time. Those machines are a sham.

You are going into with the wrong attitude. Just like gambling, you have to keep in your mind that you are paying for entertainment. You commit a certain amount and spend it. If you get something in return so be it. You would never complain that you spent $50 on a day of golf even if you lost or did badly. It is just another form of entertainment.

BTW, I don’t do either, play the claw machines or golf.
