It’s not hyperbole.
A nine year old shouldn’t have a driver’s license. A state ID, maybe, but not a driver’s license. It shouldn’t say “child” as the class. It should say non-driver.
I haven’t lived in Georgia for a while. I hope this isn’t what they really put out these days.
Great point and one with which I agree.
In the warmer months I do go to local farmers markets for produce, better than the produce at grocery stores anyway.
Depending on what protein it is, the shoppers are fine.
I wouldn’t trust them with picking out a ribeye or something like that, but ground beef or chicken, not a big deal.
Equating theft with murder is a perfect example of hyperbole.
It reminds me of Andrea Dworkin saying sex is rape.
When Sam was alive, the policy at Walmart was if there are three or more in a check out line they’d open up another register.
1%?!!!
Try 10%
inflation, ya know!
They were adorable! Whoever was in charge of that marketing campaign totally nailed it.
And what a concept! A bottled Wine Cooler, ready to go? Hadn’t been anything THAT cool since Boone’s Farm Strawberry Wine or Mad-Dog 20/20, LOL!
I mean...we’re STILL talking about this DECADES later! A Classic, for sure. :)
My biggest pet peeve is how they never stock overnight anymore and if you try to shop early, the aisles are full of stockers in your way.
I keep reading these articles saying this, but all I see here in Phoenix is more of it... I have not been in a circle K in years and they even have them there now.
I never see anyone stocking the shelves in my three local grocery stores, or even at the Walmart here. If they’re doing it at night when the stores are closed, there’s still plenty of empty shelves in all of them. The only time I see anyone stocking the shelves during the day are distributors, stocking beverages, baked goods, etc.
Dollar General stores have completely abandoned self-check-out due to theft.
For someone who didn’t even know what Walmart + is you sure were disagreeing with me about it.
It seems you do that a lot to people here.
Fascinating to hear that. Here they’re just disliked for other reasons.
Someone mentioned human interaction as being a benefit I agree with that. Some others have said “not my job” to pack or scan the groceries.
I’ve been given paper bags at both Home Depot and Loews, & Kohls.
When stolen items becomes a big enough issue, they’ll change again. The liberal left does not want to address the rising theft, but it will become hard to hide.
Both self-serve and cashier checkouts have their place.
For older folks or if you have more items, then the cashier.
If you want to move faster, than the self-serve
We use Instacart “to ‘shop at Costco’ and agree with you!”
“I use instacart, a separate business from the retailers that sell the products.
Their workers take my list, go to the store, find all the items, bag them and deliver to my front door.
For that, I have no problem paying extra to the person doing it via a tip, and I pay an annual fee for the service.”
Now in my Walmart only 25 items or less in the self checkout.
The self checkouts with the conveyor belts is where I now have to go.
I put my stuff back into the cart and take the cart to my car where I then transfer the stuff into my reusable bags to be able to carry my stuff into my house when I get home.
Not quite. Under $950 is now a misdemeanor instead of a felony in CA.
yea, and I bet they are charged and prosecuted, if they were, crime would be down.
