WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Americans’ views of the effects of marijuana have worsened over the past two years, as slim majorities now say it negatively impacts both society as a whole (54%) and most people who use it (51%). This contrasts with Gallup’s findings from 2022, when the public was about evenly divided in its assessments of marijuana’s effect on society and more likely to say the effect on most users was positive (53%) rather than negative (45%).

I’m surprised how far that smell can travel. I’d rather everyone go back to smoking tobacco , that didn’t smell as bad.
There is more than ten of these for every liquor store in town. I don't see how they can stay in business if they are operated legal. I'm sure a lot of none taxed pot goes out the back door.
Walk down 7th Ave. in Manhattan. The whole city stinks like skunk and piss.
I agree.. and I stopped smoking :P
everyone here should reflect and ask themselves how many prescription medications they’re currently taking...
different strokes for different folks...
Not just for physical ailments but for political ones as well. In the late aughts and early 2010’s I kept hearing about legalizing marijuana would keep it out of minors’ hands, end the drug cartels, raise money for the state, and reduce alcoholism.
We legalized weed in 2016. Far from eliminating the black market, 75% of weed sold in California is illegal because Sacramento got greedy and set the tax too high to compete with the cartels just across the border. Alcoholism is the same as before, kids are getting it with fake IDs and older friends just like with alcohol, and if it raised any money for the state I haven’t seen any evidence of it being applied to my neighborhood. The roads are still full of potholes and the schools are still graduating kids who can’t read.
Out-of-state left-wing organizations spent a lot of money getting legal weed on the ballot, praised it to the moon as “the golden standard for cannabis legalization”, then left ordinary Californians holding the bag.
You know that cackle cackle Kamala Harris is a pothead.

A young Tom Hanks was in that episode.
I rarely laugh and never cackle. And yet…..
The economy is so bad that owners of strip malls want drug dens. What I saw near Sepulvada Dam area near Van Nuys, Calif

This will only bring in more crime. Lots of crime.
That is highly popular, but lots of stuff also mentions “THC” and “hemp” and every other relation and by-product of MJ.
It’s ludicrous. I was already sick of the idiots going in for quack “natural” cures/relief and making these test-less businesses rich with 100% profit margin.
Never thought I’d see the day where cigarette smoking is unacceptable and banned but smoking pot is legal and just fine!
Cheech and Chong!
Hey man, what you want, good grammar or good taste?
"Son, never trust a man who doesn’t drink because he’s probably a self-righteous sort, a man who thinks he knows right from wrong all the time. Some of them are good men, but in the name of goodness, they cause most of the suffering in the world. They’re the judges, the meddlers.”
I believe you.
Except for Rudy Giuliani, the entire NYC Metro area has been run by Democrats or center-Left Republicans since the 1890s.
I live in Seattle.
We have had homeless tent cities and toilet sidewalks for at least 25 years.
During the George Floyd riots, the Radical Left actually burned down a Police substation and seized control of a four square block residential neighborhood for several weeks.
As far as I know, no one ever went to jail, for more than 15 minutes.
