Someone finally listed a concrete Kamala Harris achievement from the podium at the Democratic National Convention: She cooks a mean brisket, hubby Doug Emhoff confided.
Seriously: The speeches so far have been heavy with Trump-bashing, rich with vows to protect abortion rights, deep in “vibes” — but utterly empty on specifics about what the nominee actually does well.
We’ve had the odd bit about how she was “tough” as San Francisco DA and California attorney general and some kind words about her (brief) Senate service — and President Biden said she shared in his achievements.
But the closest Michelle Obama, for all her memorable lines, came was: “From a middle-class household, Kamala worked her way up to become vice president of the United States of America.”
Doing what?
And “Kamala has shown her allegiance to this nation, not by spewing anger and bitterness, but by living a life of service and always pushing the doors of opportunity open to others.”
What service, exactly?
Maybe name someone who got to walk through those doors?
“Throughout her entire life, that’s what we’ve seen from Kamala Harris, the steel of her spine, the steadiness of her upbringing, the honesty of her example, and yes, the joy of her laughter and her light.”
It was pure character reference.

Kamala is a hardcore Far Left Socialist
A mean brisket? Probably poll-tested for a target, moderate demographic.
But given the reports of her incessant staff turnover, more likely than a nice brisket.
(And tube steak might have been too much on the nose.)
I hunted down your post. Dead Zone is the kind of movie I enjoy. You start with some unusual or impossible thing and then expand into just what happens when this impossible thing becomes possible. In the Dead Zone you have a man who sees into the future by merely touching another person.
Have you ever seen 'Edge of Tomorrow'? In this movie contact with a special alien's blood turns a person into a time traveler. Everytime they are killed they travel back in time to a fixed moment where they live again. This unusual bit of Physics happens during an invasion by these hostile space aliens. The movie expands on this odd twist in a very entertaining way. I definitely enjoyed it.
Thanks for the tip. I’m going to watch it. Had never heard of it before.
Another great movie you probably never heard of : ‘The Man Who Could Work Miracles’ . It’s a 1936 English movie. I didn’t know it when I saw it but it is based on an H.G. Wells short story. The God’s give a random man God like powers. The fellow is not even told he has them and discovers what he can now do by pure chance. A delightful movie which becomes very thought provoking.
Thank you very much. Never heard of it and will watch it thanks to you.
Here is one obscure item you may like.
In 1946 a young woman journalist investigates the work of HG Wells and he shows her the origins of his stories. Was a miniseries I totally missed. Shows started off slow but then they grow on you including the two stars’ chemistry.

Just watched the accelerated man and the fellow who jumped back a week . Looking forward to the other HG Wells episodes!
Glad I helped.
