The Biden-Harris Department of Justice (DOJ) on Friday requested the U.S. Supreme Court “deny” Republicans’ bid to enforce an Arizona law requiring individuals to prove they’re U.S. citizens when registering and voting in elections.
Arguing on behalf of the administration, U.S. Solicitor General Elizabeth Prelogar requested that the nation’s highest court instead allow a lower court decision — one prohibiting the implementation of provisions of the statute in question — to remain in effect for the November election.
As The Federalist previously reported, the 2022 law mandated residents to show documentary proof of citizenship (DPOC) when registering via state voter registration forms. The statute also required such proof for individuals submitting mail-in ballots and voting in presidential contests.
(In Arizona, individuals who do not provide DPOC when registering to vote are permitted to do so as “federal-only voters” and cast ballots in federal elections).
The Republican National Committee and Arizona’s GOP legislative leadership filed an emergency application with the Supreme Court on Aug. 8, asking the justices to place a stay on the lower 9th Circuit Court’s decision and allow the law’s DPOC requirements to take effect for the 2024 election. Nearly half the country’s state attorneys general and several conservative organizations have since filed amicus briefs with the high court requesting a stay be issued.
In the DOJ’s Friday filing, Prelogar claimed “applicants are not entitled to a stay” and encouraged the court to “deny” such a request. Specifically, she argued that “judicial intervention at this stage would undermine the orderly administration of the election, risking the disfranchisement of thousands of voters who have already registered to vote using the federal form.”

Given that the congressional record shows that post-Civil War lawmakers had expressed concern that states who allowed illegal aliens to vote were wrongly nullifying the "Uniform Rule of Naturalization Clause," the Supreme Court cannot reasonably stop states from requiring proof of citizenship before allowing people to vote imo.

In fact, Section 2 of the 14th Amendment (14A), that amendment ratified shortly after the excerpts above appeared in the congressional record, is a penalty for states where ballot box fraud has occurred.
Note the zero tolerance "hair trigger" wording in that section that should be a warning for any state thinking about rigging an election, letting non-citizens vote just one example of doing so, Pence and the J6 Congress wrongly ignoring that section despite allegations of vote-counting fraud in 2020 elections imo,

With Section 2 in mind, consider that if this were a better world, the feds would be reminding all states before an election that the feds will be darkening the doorway of any state to investigate allegations of possible violations of constitutional voting integrity protections.
Again, the congressional record indicates that renegade states that try to use the illegal votes of illegal immigrants to win more representation in the House are violating Section 2 imo, an appropriate penalty for trying to do so imo.
The constitutionally reality is that, since worthless career federal lawmakers and renegade states have repeatedly proven that they are enemies of the people imo, it is now up to Democratic and Republican Trump supporters to effectively "impeach and remove" ALL (exceptions?) state and federal lawmakers and executives in November.
In other words, it's now up to Democratic and Republican Trump supporters to support hopeful Trump 47 with a new, Constitution-respecting Congress, new state lawmakers too, not only so that he will not be a lame duck president from the first day of his second term, but will support him to quickly finish draining the swamp.
