A grand Pran Pratishtha ceremony was held in Houston, Texas, on Sunday, August 18, where a 90-foot-tall Hanuman statue was inaugurated. This is the third tallest statue
The statue was named ‘Statue of Union,’ and it commemorates Lord Hanuman’s role in reuniting Sri Rama and Sita. The temple has been built at the Sri Ashtalakshmi Temple in Sugar Land, Texas. The visionary behind the project happens to be His Holiness Sri Chinnajeeyar Swamiji.
The website of Statue of Union says that this statue is North America’s tallest statue of Lord Hanuman, who is an “embodiment of strength, devotion, and selfless service.” “This is an opportunity for us as a community to etch a path for future generations to seek the divine blessings of Lord Hanuman,” the website says,
Describing the statue, the website says, “Located at Sri Ashtalakshmi Temple in Sugar Land, Texas, the Panchaloha Abhaya Hanuman will stand at 90 feet tall – radiating benevolence, strength, and hope. The Statue of Union is about creating a spiritual epicenter where hearts find solace, minds find peace, and souls find a path to transcendence.”
“Let’s bring the vision of North America’s tallest Hanuman Statue to life, and together, let’s continue to create a world filled with love, peace, and devotion,” it adds.

Their property and their money, what’s the problem ?
Don’t like it , too bad champ, move along, nothing to see but some busy body.
Of course you could build your own statue , but, something tells me that you won’t. Mrs. kravitz , is that you ?
“People can complain about that giant statue and our immigration laws and what they are doing to our nation all they want, discussing immigration and it’s effects is how we citizens make immigration law.”
Sure they can, I never claimed they can’t. But in turn I should have a right to my opinion also right? Or is it freedom of speech for only those who are politically correct but not others?
Hypocrisy... Hypocrisy is a very poor example of moral virtue.
And it is being put up in a temple, not on public land.
How long before someone who is "offended" knocks it down ?
“The Phoenicians were, religiously, the villains of the Old Testament. It was their gods that were the counterpoint to Yahweh, and a perpetual temptation to the Israelites.”
Exactly right. And they may very well have been here long long before the Mayflower and Puritans. In fact the Christian Catholics were here before the Puritans.
Your post 28 is trying to shut people up by using the first amendment, you are trolling the thread and playing games.
It is pretty hard to make immigration law when someone is badgering people from the left to not discuss it.
Saw a sign one. “Welcome To Iowa!” “We Hope You Brought Something To Do.”
“this is the shape changing monkey king, not a god originally. He risked his life to help get back Sita after she was kidnapped, so is a hero in ancient Indian literature.
And it is being put up in a temple, not on public land.”
Yep, he could be compared to a Patron Saint that loves his God and represents certain moral values.
But I digress, it is apparent that intolerance is a virtue and knowledge is a sin. A common doctrine.
If you mean the Spanish, then certainly.
St Augustine Florida is the oldest continuous European settlement in what is now the US. Santa Fe NM, and a slew of others predate the Pilgrims.
For that matter so does Jamestown VA.
These are the people that the left tried to co-opt with the Parents Music Resource Center and the fake preachers. These are also the assholes on this forum that threaten random hippies for burning flags. These are the same ones, even on this forum, that only allow bad things to be said and inferred against some people but insist that saying similar things about another should be restricted and punished.
For some people there are endless “good” reasons to diminish the right of someone else because it most certainly couldnt ever be used to diminish theirs.
They vote democrat largely and many are rude
But yes they work
Most are colonizers for the family back home
So we can throw the Catholics out? Finally!
No I didn’t, I never said no one should discuss it. It was just a factual personal observation of the hypocritical examples being shared. It is disheartening to see the same hypocrisy displayed by the left about religion and speech coming from the self proclaimed “righteous”. It is stepping on our own toes and not doing the respect of our faith any favors.
“It is pretty hard to make immigration law.”
So only Christian Immigrants then? What sect? Once we set parameters which sects of Christianity are allowed and which are not? Since very few sects respect other sects should the majority sect deport all the minority sects? Where does it stop once it starts?
“badgering people from the left.”
I’m not even going to expand on that childish low IQ stab. You very well know better.
Their idols are silver and gold,
the work of human hands.
They have mouths, but do not speak;
eyes, but do not see,
They have ears, but do not hear;
noses, but do not smell.
They have hands, but do not feel;
feet, but do not walk;
and they do not make a sound in their throat.
Those who make them become like them;
so do all who trust in them. (Psalm 115:4–8)
Based on factual Puritan history I have a theory. I don’t think they were actually running to hide from persecution. I think they were shown the door because of their radical and extreme doctrine by a culture that was now becoming more civil than they were.
It is a discussion that has to be made, a lot of us don’t agree with you on immigration but you are sure making a dedicated defense of non-Christian immigration to our nation.
“For some people there are endless “good” reasons to diminish the right of someone else because it most certainly couldnt ever be used to diminish theirs.”
Same observations I have too. On all topics not just faith. I find it hard to claim virtue and self righteousness when this is the case in fact.
I didn’t say one thing about immigration, that is a completely separate topic and agenda. I was simply addressing freedom of Religion. If a faith isn’t actually harming anyone then why not? Just out of pure hate? I know Islam approves of hate. Does your God approve of the very same hate? Are all religions but Christianity to be considered the same evil as Islam?
There are a whole lot of things wrong with this picture in a nation that is supposed to be “free”.
Now you talk about “hate”, is “phobia” next? You sure use the language of the left while expressing their politics and immigration views.
The tallest statues in the World.
