A grand Pran Pratishtha ceremony was held in Houston, Texas, on Sunday, August 18, where a 90-foot-tall Hanuman statue was inaugurated. This is the third tallest statue
The statue was named ‘Statue of Union,’ and it commemorates Lord Hanuman’s role in reuniting Sri Rama and Sita. The temple has been built at the Sri Ashtalakshmi Temple in Sugar Land, Texas. The visionary behind the project happens to be His Holiness Sri Chinnajeeyar Swamiji.
The website of Statue of Union says that this statue is North America’s tallest statue of Lord Hanuman, who is an “embodiment of strength, devotion, and selfless service.” “This is an opportunity for us as a community to etch a path for future generations to seek the divine blessings of Lord Hanuman,” the website says,
Describing the statue, the website says, “Located at Sri Ashtalakshmi Temple in Sugar Land, Texas, the Panchaloha Abhaya Hanuman will stand at 90 feet tall – radiating benevolence, strength, and hope. The Statue of Union is about creating a spiritual epicenter where hearts find solace, minds find peace, and souls find a path to transcendence.”
“Let’s bring the vision of North America’s tallest Hanuman Statue to life, and together, let’s continue to create a world filled with love, peace, and devotion,” it adds.

I bet a lot of liberals turned out to gaze in awe.
“Culture”, you know...
WTF is this crap doing in my Texas? As long as it isn’t as tall as Sam Houston, I guess I can deal
Their idols are silver and gold,
the work of human hands.
They have mouths, but do not speak;
eyes, but do not see,
They have ears, but do not hear;
noses, but do not smell.
They have hands, but do not feel;
feet, but do not walk;
and they do not make a sound in their throat.
Those who make them become like them;
so do all who trust in them. (Psalm 115:4–8)
Idol worship celebrating planet of the apes?
Looks like a monkey god.
“North America’s tallest statue of Lord Hanuman”
Lord Hanuman envy?
I thought only the left was selective, bias, and hypocritical about the Constitutional first amendment. Looks like I was wrong. It is on private property, their Constitutional right, and we better be careful of our bias scrutiny or our crosses are next. Even on private church property as this is.
Not my first choice of statuary. But I will say that Indian immigrants are some of the most patriotic and hard working folks I have ever met.
Compared to what?
“Not my first choice of statuary. But I will say that Indian immigrants are some of the most patriotic and hard working folks I have ever met.”
And tolerant of other faiths like Christianity. Unfortunately it appears it is not the same in return.
The live monkey brains scene from Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom was enough culture for me. I guess not everyone is a vegan over there.
“Figures from the Bhakti movement, such as Samarth Ramdas, have portrayed Hanuman as an emblem of nationalism and defiance against oppression.”
“He epitomizes the fusion of “strength, heroic initiative, and assertive excellence”
“Subsequent literature has occasionally depicted him as the patron deity of martial arts, meditation, and scholarly pursuits.[15] He is revered as an exemplar of self-control, faith, and commitment to a cause,”
Absolute terrible doctrine...
Just be glad it isn’t a rat god statue in honor of Karni Mata.
then they dissed Sam then. At least Sam looks like a person
I never implied that the Hindus in Texas had no First Amendment right to erect their pagan statues. Of course they do.The purpose of the original post was to highlight the fact that America has so fallen away from its original founding principles that were based on Christianity, that 90ft tall idols to foreign gods are now being raised.
In this country Hindus are free to put up their statues. That same First Amendment also lets me publicly comment and criticize those statues and call them pagan idols of foreign gods.
There were no Muslims on the Mayflower.
There were no Hindus on the Mayflower.
There were no Jews on the Mayflower.
There were no Buddhists on the Mayflower.
The fact that they are all here now in America and are all protected by our Constitution's 1st Amendment, doesn't mean we can't comment on their activities.
Ooooooh wow. A “visionary” is behind this and he is call his holiness. The statue just sprung up out of nowhere. So who paid for this abomination?
