VP Kamala Harris’ stepdaughter Ella Emhoff pushes ketamine, ‘shorter work days’ in ‘pain management’ rant

Vice President Kamala Harris’ stepdaughter, Ella Emhoff, revealed this week that she grew up with a spinal condition that caused a “hunchback” – and suggested using the controversial drug ketamine as one way to deal with the pain.

The lefty activist daughter of second gentleman Doug Emhoff made the recommendation in one of a series of Instagram posts this week where she also revealed she has suffered from “bad chronic back pain” for most of her life.

”I was born with a tethered spine (iykyk) which caused my back to not properly lengthen when I was growing and caused a kyphosis (hunchback),” Emhoff, 25, with her face covered in Hello Kitty stickers, wrote to her 345,000 followers on Tuesday.

A tethered spine is the result of the spinal cord abnormally sticking itself to the inside of the spinal canal, which can cause lasting damage to the spinal nerves and the loss of bodily functions if not treated.

“Was in and out of doctors and PT for most of my adolescence Got lower back surgery grew a million inches and now deal with chronic pain,” she continued.

The IMG model and fashion designer asked her fellow “chronic pain people” what they’re using “to feel comf [sic].”

The next day, Emhoff posted another Instagram story in which she linked to a Google Sheet titled “Big Pain Management List.”

Among the suggestions — which are broken down by devices, topicals, exercises, lifestyle, therapies and books — are “ketamine infusions.”

She walks upright as well. No slouch, nothing. She's a model, after all.

I looked at some video and I see no outward signs of deformity.

There are ketamine clinics all over the country where you can get one of their “doctors” to give you a prescription so they can k-hole you. Legalized drug abuse, pure and simple.

Exactly what I was thinking and he was a drug addict. Pretty bad timing for her rant on number of fronts.

No photo I’ve seen shows Ella having a hunchback. She looks like an unhappy person, going by her photos.

She’s really homely. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, if you have a sweet personality or a really good marketable skill, like accounting.

There are good medical reasons to use certain drugs. My brother in law suffered severe pain while he was dying of cancer, and he depended on fentanyl patches. Nothing else would do.

Lots of terminal patients become dependent on opiates. I had to oversee the morphine doses of my terminally ill uncle a few years ago, and report usage to his medical team.

In this case who knows, it may have been legit, her birth defect seems to have been quite serious.

As she says, she was cured of the potential deformity, which was a possible result of her birth defect. That really is an advance in medicine.

It does depend on catching the problem in time.

This tethered cord thing is real.
In prenatal tests my daughter was said to be in danger of spina bifida, but thankfully it resolved itself before her birth. But she was afterwards regularly checked for possible spinal issues, including tethered cord syndrome.

That modelling career seems to be rather forced.

But still, in most pictures where she isnt trying for a bizarre effect (her aesthetic sense is worse than her looks) she is quite decent looking, though she is rather a beanpole.

Yeah, ketamine, and many drugs, aren’t without their dangers.

Not sure how that happened. Her mom is good looking and her dad is an average looking guy, but she turned out way below average in looks.

Could be worse, Ella: You could have inherited your father’s condition of having no spine at all.
