Australian police have launched an appeal over CCTV footage which shows an alleged arsonist dropping and rolling after setting themselves on fire during an attack on a barber shop.
The footage, taken just before midnight on July 6, shows two individuals pulling up to the ‘Gold Blade’ barber shop in Gungahlin, Canberra, on push bikes.
During the frantic exit, the individual can be seen diving through the smashed glass panel and onto the pavement, before rolling over several times in an attempt to stop the flames from spreading.

Arsonist in Australia sets himself on fire while torching barber shop
Did he get a bad haircut?
It’s not like that in the movies...
And wearing all plastic based motorcycle gear. NICE. That’ll be fun to peel off.
I hear Sam Cooke singing “Don’t know much about gasoline...”
As my dear dad said, if criminals had brains, they'd have a real job. They're not the sharpest knives in the drawer, and they often have no idea that gasoline vapors are flammable.
I did arson investigation work for some years, and in the trade they were known as "Crispy Critters."
Criminals are people who do bad things. And they do those badly.
Stupidity is the handmaiden to criminality.
That was no arsonist. That was a skit from Saturday Night Live. If not, it oughta be. It’d be the only funny skit on SNL since John Belushi left.
I’m thinking Muslim. Islam frowns upon barbers.
I didn’t know that. It strikes me as odd someone should target a barber shop. Other than the stuff already mentioned maybe grudge against the owner. Some guy’s girlfriend works there, they broke up and he wants to put her out of a job? I just can’t think of why a barber shop would be a target especially since there were two arsonists.
Like his big brother Bob.
From the video, would you say that this fire consumed all the oxygen in the room almost immediately, and died down, or did a suppression system kick in?

I remember when I was young that the local mobster sent an arsonist was sent to burn down a local pizzeria because the owner was not buying the mob approved cheese for his pizzas. The arsonist broke in at night and was spreading gasoline. He was unaware that pizza ovens have pilot lights. Police found him a smoking mess in the parking lot.
And I hear the Supremes singing,
"Stop! Drop and roll around
Put flames out on the ground
Ro-oll o-o-ver
Ro-oll o-o-ver!
Let's give credit where credit is due.
