we should only allow people that own property to vote.

Years ago in the colonies that was the case. There was a reason for that.

If you owned land you had food to feed your family and trees to chop down to keep you in firewood. If you had no land to farm and no skills you probably couldn't support yourself.

Anybody who couldn't support himself and family would be auctioned off to the community. People would bid on the non-productive ones to provide them with food and shelter and in return they would have to work for that person in return. Yes it was like slavery and it was for white people.

I agree that the senators would reflect the state legislature. There are states with conservative legislatures. Alabama comes to mind. There are others.

The current composition of the U.S. senate is:

49 Republicans

48 Democrats

3 Independents (who caucus with the Democrats).

So Democrats control the senate 51/49.

That was what my son explained to me and as an example he gave that since women entered the labour market, basic family traditions have deteriorated and dysfunctional families are the rule rather than the exception, that on the one hand and the prices of real estate and consumer goods have skyrocketed.

Promoting singledom is what has destroyed the nation. The nature of woman is dependency. In marriage, she is dependent on her husband. As a single person, she puts her dependency on the government. The more single women there are, the more women will be voting for the government.

Actually, I agree. And I’m a woman. Although I appreciate having the opportunity to vote, the privilege to vote. But I agree that women, who by and large vote based on emotions, have been the cause, the downfall of a lot of the crap going on in this country.
