The suggestion that boxing could be missing from the 2028 Los Angeles Games is one of those historic moments for both sport and the Olympic Games. One of the founding sports of the modern Olympics, boxing has been a core component of every Reinstatement Games since 1904. It appeared in St Louis alongside other events like wrestling, but turbulence regarding governance, ethics, and sports integrity has it teetering. The following article digs into this history, why it led to an International Olympic Committee (IOC) decision, and what that means more widely in boxing within the Olympic movement.

“Oh well, we got break dancing now”

Was it my imagination, or were they going to have Pole Dancing as an Olympic Sport.

LOL. I hope it was your imagination. Can’t you just envision the trannies fighting for the gold?

I watched not one second of the O-lame-pics this year. Zero interest in the globo-homo extravaganza.

The push to pay-per-view, along with the Don King effect (massive purses with high guarantees for winners and losers, leading to infrequent fights) was really the beginning of the end. That’s what opened the door for MMA to come in and start eating its lunch.

Yeah, but very few of them go into boxing. Especially not the people with the charisma to be a big deal. Boxing even more than most sports is star driven. And the stars are running to MMA.

At the rate LA is deteriorating, it will have turned into a total s—thole long before 2028, especially with far left Mayor Karen Bass in charge. Even now, downtown LA and nearby neighborhoods resemble hobo city and with vacant storefronts everywhere. It should be renamed San Francisco South.

Could the now imminent takeover of women’s boxing by men have anything to do with it? Men beating up women is a turnoff for Olympic fans and trannies beating each other up is just plain irrelevant to sport and everyone knows that.

Women's boxing was not one of the founding sports. That's a 21st century innovation.

No Olympic wrestling? I guess I haven’t been paying attention.
