Vice President Kamala Harris’s 2024 campaign is seeking to avoid overstuffing the Democratic National Convention with celebrities to avoid making it seem like a “Hollywood liberal elite” event.
The four-day event, scheduled to begin Aug. 19 in Chicago, will be selective over which celebrities it chooses to invite. The report comes after the party has had a history of doing events with major celebrities, including one in June with actors George Clooney, Julia Roberts, and Jack Black while President Joe Biden was still seeking reelection.
“We are living in the most personalized media environment ever, so it’s crucial we are leveraging the unparalleled excitement around this historic ticket by doing everything we can to break through to the voters who will decide this election,” the Harris campaign’s senior spokeswoman Adrienne Elrod told TMZ.
Elrod also stated that celebrities “bring new voters into the fold” in a manner that only they could by “speaking authentically” to their fans.
The outlet has reported that musician John Legend is set to visit the DNC. However, it is not yet known if he will be delivering a speech or performing at the event.
The Republican National Convention, held last month, also saw a few celebrities partake in the event, including wrestling icon Hulk Hogan and model Amber Rose.
The Democratic Party’s move to limit the celebrity appearances at the DNC comes after Harris selected Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) as her 2024 running mate, with the two certified as the party’s 2024 presidential ticket this past week. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) praised Harris’s pick as a uniter for “not just the Democratic Party, but for the entire United States.”

Yep they don’t want to make it seem like they’re shoving liberal Hollywood down our throats.
There will still be lots of spewing forth of liberal pablum at that convention. ,, there will still be lots of fear of Trump ,,and talk of how Life as we know it is going to end if we re-elect Trump . ,They just don’t want to have Hollywood idiots doing it because that might turn off some people in Middle America.

“Ohhh, the Coward and the Ho, the Coward and the Ho - Hi ho, the derry-oh, ...”
Now I can’t even tell which is which.
I wonder if some of their internal polling or surveys, have shown it becomes counterproductive for Hollywood idiots to lecture us to be liberal.
I know , in my opinion, it gets tiresome to be lectured by Hollywood idiots about global warming, transgender surgeries, abortion, and all the rest of the liberal platform issues.
It goes something like this: "There weren't many celebrities at the convention because we told them not to show up."
Why stop celebrities from speaking at Kamala's campaign events? She's a horrible speaker. Her supporters want to see Megan Thee Stallion twerk. So give them what they want
-PJ
Yup—Walz is going to be in pervert heaven.
The Dem theme song should be “Crazy Train”.
Does that mean no trans people? Dang. I wonder if we will see a crying Adam Kinzinger give a speech about the danger of a Trump Presidency.
Looks like the convention will be a phony “look at how moderate we are”.
Without celebrities, WHY watch?

NOT MANY WILL AGREE TO APPEAR
no, they don’t. they want celebtards on stage as much as possible. this is fake news.
Bu that’s what libtardism is - rule by the left wing elite. Maybe they can hide them in the closet when they’re not begging donations or trashing Trump
There won’t be many in attendance if they do that.
Jeff Bozos will dictate what he wants while floating around beach ball bimbo boobs and you will like it
