Interestingly, sometime over the last month I did observe some moderator activity specifically targeting the zeeper spammers.

For about half a day, FR was normal.

Suddenly it reverted.

It’s almost like a ‘rogue’ mod took action and then was reprimanded for his/her actions.

So, then...it’s patently obvious JR has spoken on the topic, so-to-speak.

I imagine an individual “block” mechanism would be a complete PIA to program into this site.

Every entry on every thread would need to be individually filtered against an ever changing array of user names.

It’s been while since I programmed a database system, but that does not sound like an easy “add on.” I guess if you were building it front scratch there are applications that could be used, but I am willing to bet that this site could not adopt them.

Something else I noticed, the new trend in titles is to jam about 20% of the article into the title...So you don’t even have to click on many of these articles because nearly the entire story is in these ridicules huge titles.

And the fact that many of those on this thread opposing your suggestion are the same people I would likely block, just jumps out. The irony make me recoil...Funny stuff.
