Did Applebees learn nothing from the Red Lobster fiasco?
All YOU can eat, not all everyone at the table can eat!
“Per person” was written under the app on the menu.
That is what started the problem. Her continued behavior is what got her arrested.IMO she KNEW what she was doing, and dared the manager to do something about it...they did, and I salute the police for doing their job.
Depends on your interpretation.
Woman shares her appetizer.
Management calls police.
After police are on scene, which is after she shared the appetizer, she was arrested.
Therefore, the headline was true. She was arrested AFTER she shared her appetizer. Now, if the headline read that she was arrested BECAUSE she shared the appetizer, then that would not be accurate. "She was formally charged with disorderly conduct, a Class B misdemeanor."
The City of Portage is in Indiana, not Illinois. This young lady will shortly become familiar with the difference in the judicial systems of the two states.
Her (probably former) friend tried to get her to calm down and ended up paying the bill because she apparently has a sense of decency.
So the headline is a lie.
I don’t go out anymore...
And THAT my friends, will guarantee that the boo boo's will get fired up.
Agree. She was arrested for disorderly conduct, not sharing her appetizer. Most people would just either leave or accept the rules of the establishment. She became belligerent instead.
“What part of the headline is a lie?”
The headline is not technically false, but it implies that she was arrested *for* sharing the all-you-can-eat thing. She wasn’t. The cops aren’t there to enforce Applebee’s menu policies. As noted in the thread, she was arrested for “disorderly conduct” which apparently involved shouting at employees and behaving in a physically threatening, such a putting her hand over someone else’s mouth.
She was not arrested for going to Applebee's, ordering the appetizer, sharing the appetizer or even not paying for the additional appetizers.
She was arrested for acting like a fag (south park reference).
THIS
“she was under the impression that “all you can eat” meant the whole table could enjoy one order of bottomless appetizers”
The Bell Curve at work.
Even before I saw the name, I knew without a shadow of a doubt what kind of entitled person it was talking bout. Every time.
Headline is not a lie.
Headline says she was arrested 'after' sharing the meal with the table. It does not say she was arrested 'for' sharing the meal with the table.
What the article leaves out is that when she said the manager told her that the all you can eat was per person, she claimed they weren't told this beforehand.
After the police pointed out that there was a 'per person' notation on the menu right under the 'all you can eat' heading, her friend paid the bill.
