Female NYPD officer left bloodied after she’s punched in the face by repeat offender, leading to wild caught-on-camera arrest
A repeat offender on probation allegedly punched an NYPD officer so hard that she fell to the ground before other cops pounced on the violent suspect on a Bronx sidewalk Thursday evening in a caught-on-camera arrest.
Ernst Delma, 41, slugged the female officer in the face when she tried to break up an argument between him and a group of kids around 7:10 p.m. on the corner of Rosedale and Randall avenues, authorities and law enforcement sources said.
Footage captured by a bystander shows the officer’s partner rush the suspect while other cops and witnesses check on the injured officer, who is still on the ground with a bloody face, sources said.
While the assaulted cop gets to her feet, her partner lands at least two haymakers on the suspect during the struggle on the ground, the video shows.
The injured officer sustained a cut to her lip and was taken to a local hospital in stable condition, police said.
Delma faces charges of assault on a police officer, resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration, police said.
Delma, who is on probation, has numerous prior arrests, for assault and burglary over the past few years – including a July 2022 case in which he randomly slugged a woman along Broadway in Midtown, law enforcement sources said.
The woman, 57, was walking near the Minskoff Theatre, a tourist hotspot that hosts The Lion King, when Delma clocked her in the face, sources said. His brutal attack left her with redness to her nose and upper lip, according to sources.

Years ago I read an article defending women as patrol officers. The author said that police are now equipped with sophisticated equipment like tasers and strong pepper spray. So brute strength is no longer needed.
This is complete nonsense on many levels. But it will never change. And that’s because liberals will pick fantasy over reality every time.
The female cops need police dogs by their side.
Criminals are actually terrified of the dogs.
The dogs bite first and ask questions later and don’t respond well to “do you know who I am?”

Criminal? no problem.
Abysmal credit score? no problem.
No income? no problem.
Serial evictee? no problem.
Past terrible rental history? no problem.
To deny any of the above is “discriminatory” and LawNY can come after you, the Landlord for 3X the damages if you dare do any screening of applicants.

A friend of mine works at a large amusement park. The park closes at 11 PM. But some young folks don’t feel like leaving.
So they ignore the first two park PA system announcements.
10:45 “The park closes in 15 minutes. Please exit the park.”
11:00 “The park is now closed. Please exit the park.”
11:15 “The park is now closed. In 15 minutes we will release guard dogs.”
That last announcement gets everyone scurrying towards the exists. And of course there are no guard dogs.

Female cops have always been hired. Their purpose was for arresting and detaining female crooks and dealing with children. That really is as it should be.
This small woman could take on another woman but dealing with a man like this guy? She should have had better sense and called for back up to protect those kids.
With any luck when he’s in his cell he’ll find out what the 1920’s an 30’s rubber hose treatment was like.
He is a menace to society.
On Patrol Live has one cop who routinely imitates a dog bark when chasing suspects as he gives the “dog—he will bite you” warning.
It does work almost every time.
The preponderance of the examples I’ve seen supports that argument.
