Harvard To Offer Class Examining Medieval Texts Through Lens Of 'Queer Theory'
Campus Reform ^ | 08/06/2024

Harvard University will be offering a course examining medieval texts by using “queer theory.”

Harvard’s English department will be featuring a “Queer/Medieval” class in the upcoming spring 2025 semester. The course will be an “introduction to queer theory as an intellectual tool with which to read texts far removed from the political, cultural, and social discourses from which queer theory emerged,” specifically, in this case, medieval texts.

“We will ask: what can queer theory offer readers of medieval literature in its explorations of gender, sexuality, race, power, narrative, trauma, and time?” the course description states.

The course will use the lens of “queer theory” to examine classic medieval texts such as Sir Gawain and the Green Knight.

Though the course is listed on Harvard’s website as taking place in the spring 2025 semester, a Harvard official told Campus Reform that it will actually take place in the fall of 2024.

The course will be taught by Assistant Professor of English Anna Wilson, Harvard’s “Medieval Studies Faculty Liaison for Equity and Diversity,” whose faculty profile lists “BGLTQ Studies” as one of her academic specialties. Her research interests include “medieval Christian visionary writing,” “women’s writing,” “fanfiction and fan communities,” “queer theory,” “gender and sexuality studies,” and “race in medieval literature,” among others.

“I am delighted to mentor all Harvard students,” her page reads.

“As a queer woman, I am particularly happy to support students who identify as LGBTQAII+.”

Harvard offers a wide array of services catered to LGBTQ-identifying students, including its “Office of BGLTQ Student Life” which hosts a number of events each year, including “a National Coming Out Day open mic, a vigil for Trans Day of Remembrance, and Lavender Graduation in honor of graduating members of the BGLTQ community.”

“The Office of BGLTQ Student Life serves as a central resource for bisexual, gay, lesbian, transgender, queer, and questioning (BGLTQ) students at Harvard College,” the office’s website reads.

“Through our work, we foster the inclusion, affirmation, and celebration of all BGLTQ identities and expressions. We strive to create a community where BGLTQ students can thrive and where all students are well-equipped to engage knowledgeably and compassionately with regard to gender and sexuality.”

Campus Reform has reached out to Anna Wilson for comment. This story will be updated accordingly.

Wonder how the match between the West and the European East is gonna work out?

Probably a non-accredited course, like those college courses about Beyonce, and “her sociological influences in the western world”.

If you look at something through a purple lens, it looks purple whether it actually is or not.

For those who chose to see there is little doubt why there is a student debt “problem”
Majors like ancient Egyptian lesbian art studies provide no future earnings potential.

The “esteemed “ liberal institutions in concert with federal loans provide the money for the fools. The “anti-capitalistic “ schools greedily take the money knowing full well what the earning potential of these degrees are.

The students and their parents are not off the hook either for such horrible choices.

I can’t help but think that DEI was, in part, created to give these people jobs. Worthless jobs for people with worthless degrees.

Side note someone in a post had this and I think it is appropriate DEI= didn’t earn it

Oh please. To what end? How would such a course of study be helpful or worth the time spent to pursue? But let’s not forget, there were gays long before the time of Jesus. In the ancient Greek society, gayness was definitely practiced. So why stress about it? The best, most elegant approach is the don’t ask, don’t tell approach of the Clintoon era.

It’s clear — and not surprising — that the Harvard bosses (cannot bring myself to call them “educators” or even “administrators”) need a new prescription for their lens. They won’t get one, though; it’s clear they like being blind (to reality and truth).

That sounds like a lot of money for a load of crap. Maybe they have some other useful classes for useful idiots. Or...maybe they even offer some genuinely useful classes so they can possibly maintain their dwindling reputation.

Surely it has done useful classes and good professors. But the entire university appears to be delivering immoral and frankly downright evil, antisocial messaging — with a dangerous or intimidating physical environment to boot. Perhaps the Scandinavian adage applied, “a fish Roy’s from its head.” Harvard needs a new morally decent honest board of trustees/ overseers and some new administrators. Who will ACT now to clean out the obvious filth in staff and program, and work to Re establish a proper “campus culture” free of “teaching” racism, anti- American propaganda, and free of anti- Christian/Jewish bias.
As it stands, we won’t give Harvard one more penny. There still are good decent colleges students (and faculty) can go to…F the Harvard commies and Nazis!

I do know Harvard was founded basically as a seminary to train Christian clergy —- whereas today satanic scum run the place to indoctrinate all sorts of falsehoods and evil hateful crap “thinking” into the minds of the youth.
A complete U- turn
