In a video shared to his X account, formerly Twitter, Rittenhouse said he would be "writing in Ron Paul for president of the United States" come the November election.
"Hi, I'm Kyle Rittenhouse, Outreach Director for Texas gun rights. A lot of people are upset that I said that I'm going to be writing in Ron Paul for president of the United States, and that is true, I will be writing in Ron Paul," the 21-year-old said in the clip, referring to the former Texas congressman.
"Unfortunately, Donald Trump had bad advisors, making him bad on the Second Amendment, and that is my issue," Rittenhouse added.
"If you cannot be completely uncompromisable on the Second Amendment, I will not vote for you, and I will write somebody else in. We need champions for the Second Amendment or our rights would be eaten away and eroded each day. I support my decision and I have no takebacks." Hours prior, Rittenhouse shared a photo with Paul. "There aren't many people in this world that I get excited to meet but meeting @RonPaul was an incredible pleasure," he captioned the image, before adding in a separate post, "Still writing in @RonPaul !"

Credit him for speaking up, sharing an opinion even if it is not welcome. I met him a couple of years ago in Reno, seemed like a nice kid. At least he’s thinking, unlike too many college kids.
Ron Paul voted to “repeal DADT” policy for the military early in Obama’s administration. He was one of only 5 House Republicans to do so. That is a FACT. That was the critical beginning of the end of an effective military.
Compromise a nation’s ability to defend itself through a robust military, and you destroy that nation. It is willfully infecting a nation with AIDS.
What nonsense.
While Trump's left hand was "outlawing" bump stocks with a worthless executive order, his right hand was appointing justices to join Thomas and Alito in making the Bruen decision.
My knee-jerk initial reaction to the Bruen decision was to note that the term "strict scrutiny" was missing from the decision. Only after a more careful reading did I realize that Thomas had thrown out the notion that our rights have to be constantly re-negotiated with the government. THEY DON'T !!!
Bruen makes clear that the negotiations ended when the Second Amendment was passed. It means today what it meant in 1791. It no longer matters what the government claims is a compelling reason to infringe. The right shall not be infringed.
The ramifications of Bruen have barely been felt yet. The lower courts are dragging their feet. When Trump appoints his first Supreme Court Justice in his second term, only then will we realize what a fabulous thing it was for Trump to be delayed for four years.
A vote for anyone but Trump is a vote for a democrat.
He’s a dumb kid trying to make money in the celebrity world (which means without working for it). Unfortunately for him the “dumb” part is the operative part…and now his money-making prospects have just taken a self-induced broadside. Unless he now goes full MSNBC, no one anywhere will give him an audience.
While Trump’s left hand was “outlawing” bump stocks with a worthless executive order, his right hand was appointing justices to join Thomas and Alito in making the Bruen decision.
Kyle Rittenhouse says he isn’t voting for Donald Trump and will write-in Ron Paul for president
—
when he does, he will be casting a vote for Harris in reality. He’ll get what he voted for - nothing.
Rittenhouse is borderline retarded. I am not saying that to insult him, he is just really not that intelligent of a person. He doesn’t represent the normal blue -collar workers as he’s never been one.
Would be nice to pick Cannon.
Many of us were young and idealistic. Experience brings wisdom, unless you live in a bubble.
Because Ron is a very strict Constitutionalist and has always supported the individual’s right to have equal opportunity. In no way was it in support of gays, simply support of the Constitutional rights of each and every individual even if they just happen to be gay. Should it actually be any other way? To say so would be collective anti-constitutional leftist mob ideology. The Constitution is not meant to have double standards. Only the left manipulates the Constitution with mob rule to support double standards and group think over the rights of the individual.
He is just falling for propaganda. Is Trump the stoutest, staunchest, most in your face advocate? no.... but he certainly is the only person running who is an actual 2A advocate.
I wouldnt figure from a PR perspective this helps Kyle in any way.... and it really doesnt hurt Trump very much.
Kyle’s a 21 year old young man who has been railroaded by the system. He’s entitled to his opinion. I know that I wasn’t thinking especially strategically when I was 21. He’ll figure things out.
I think that was clear when he decided to walk away on his own from his colleagues with his AR-15 and medical kit to see if anyone needed medical attention.
It got him back in the news for a day. Mission accomplished.
KR should be caring DEEPLY about who wins. A naked communist like Harris could arbitrarily decide to declare KR guilty of murder and throw him in prison.
I’ll ask you, then. Should DADT been repealed, allowing homosexuals to be open about it in the military, reversing ALL precedent regarding this policy?
Another useful idiot.
And I will ask you this in return... Do you believe in each individual’s Constitutional right to exercise free speech without persecution? Does not knowing they are gay make them not gay? It has always been full of gays, ever since I was a kid this was a known fact. Does hiding it actually prevent the gayness? Some of the top notch soldiers I know turned out to be closet gays. Just because they hid the fact did not make them straight. It only protected the “image” of the forces. Other countries have the very same issues in their own forces. So them knowing or not is a wash.
As for Ron Paul his motives are ALWAYS to defend the Constitutional rights of the individual no matter how inconvenient it might be for the masses or opinion of the masses. Pretty soon we are going to be longing for that very steadfast dedication to the Constitution.
The reason they hate Rittenhouse so much is the fact that he demonstrated how a AR could be reasonably used by a 17 year old defend his own life against a rabid mob that the government abjectly failed to suppress.
Rittenhouse should be judged by his principles and demeanor and not by an ill advised political statement. President Trump should also be judged by his principles and demeanor. Both exhibited courage under fire and hate.
