In a video shared to his X account, formerly Twitter, Rittenhouse said he would be "writing in Ron Paul for president of the United States" come the November election.
"Hi, I'm Kyle Rittenhouse, Outreach Director for Texas gun rights. A lot of people are upset that I said that I'm going to be writing in Ron Paul for president of the United States, and that is true, I will be writing in Ron Paul," the 21-year-old said in the clip, referring to the former Texas congressman.
"Unfortunately, Donald Trump had bad advisors, making him bad on the Second Amendment, and that is my issue," Rittenhouse added.
"If you cannot be completely uncompromisable on the Second Amendment, I will not vote for you, and I will write somebody else in. We need champions for the Second Amendment or our rights would be eaten away and eroded each day. I support my decision and I have no takebacks." Hours prior, Rittenhouse shared a photo with Paul. "There aren't many people in this world that I get excited to meet but meeting @RonPaul was an incredible pleasure," he captioned the image, before adding in a separate post, "Still writing in @RonPaul !"

It doesn't make sense.
Well, he’s even dumber than I thought.
This is nonsense. Here are the facts presented by the Federalist Society:
This is inconsistent with his views

From the Federalist Society - A Second Amendment Grade for President Trump So Far:
Largely Doing The Right Things
As with Trump’s rhetoric, most of his administration’s policy efforts have been consistent with his promise to protect the right to keep and bear arms.
Early in his first term, federal agencies reversed course on several Obama-era policies that would have jeopardized Americans’ Second Amendment rights. For example, under the Trump Administration, the State Department settled a previous Obama Administration lawsuit with Defense Distributed and permitted that organization to publish its blueprints for 3D-printed guns online. This was a win for both the First and Second Amendments. Americans clearly have a right to discuss and disseminate information about how to conduct lawful activities—including how to smith a firearm for personal use.
Similarly, the Trump Administration rescinded (before it could go into effect) an Obama-era regulation that would have effectively stripped the Second Amendment rights of any person who checked a particular box on a form submitted to the Social Security Administration. Normally, before the government can prohibit a person from keeping and bearing arms, it must first prove at some sort of hearing or trial that the person is a criminal, seriously mentally ill, or otherwise poses a serious danger to the community. The new Obama rule, however, would have summarily declared tens of thousands of Americans ineligible to exercise a constitutional right without first providing them any semblance of due process.

Paul voted to sodomize the military, so he has declared himself my enemy and I could no longer support him in any way, shape or form. He cannot be trusted after displaying such faulty judgement.
Kid is a one issue voter. And Kamala would take your guns away on day one.
Why not Elvis, or Mickey Mouse?
Ron Paul isn’t running. Kyle is telling those who think like him to not vote for Trump... so that benefits Kamala. How is this helpful? Even if you want to be a single-issue voter, she’s lousy on that issue.
Heck, Donald Trump has bad advisors (or ideas) on a lot of issues.
The kid is too young to understand politics. At least he will probably live long enough, though.
I wrote in Ron Paul in 2012. No way I was voting for that POS Romney. I’ve voted Republican for every other election.
Ron Paul was one of the greatest patriots of the last 25 years and was regularly smeared by mainstream ‘republicans’.
To vote for anyone except Trump is to help the Democrats win. If you don’t like what the Democrats stand for, the only way you can stop them is to vote for Trump.
So? Kyle is effectively casting half a vote for Kamala - a candidate who will use the military to confiscate his guns and kill him if he resists. Fortunately, no one will look to him for voting advice.
It made sense then and in 2008 I totally agree
Trump’s ban on bump stocks was bad but that was overturned and I think Trump has learned his lesson there. I think Trump supports the 2A, bigly.
There is a binary choice. Trump or the communist. This idiot is choosing poorly.
Kyle dropped out of HS and may or may not have a GED.
Just because he’s a badass doesn’t mean he’s at all intelligent or makes good decisions.
His support for Rand Paul helps Trump, even just a little bit.
Thus far, what RP had done for the 2nd Amendment, as far as I can tell, is vote to confirm DJT’s SCOTUS picks. I’m sure there are some lower profile judges that are pro-2A that he’s voted for, as well. Rittenhouse is being naive.
Who cares? He is still a kid.
as long as he doesn’t live in a swing state, I could care less who he votes for.
Well he probably has some level of following so he’s working to depress the Trump support in favor of Harris. Good going kid.
It doesn’t make sense.
Ever wonder how much the democrats pay people to say things it’s like Hollywood in D.C..
