I have lived in Florida for most of my life and have been through many hurricanes. Today’s technology for hurricane track prediction is quite good, especially 2-3 days out.
Family used to know the legendary forecaster from the Miami NHC— who moved up to near Canaveral and built a truly hurricane proof home- prestressed concrete anti-wind design, the works. Can’t recall his name. He was always on national, think it was ABC— and always accurate. Will have to rack memory from the days before the internet.
IMO, the warnings can be helpful but anyone who lives in FL and is not prepped well before hurricane season is foolish.
Waiting until the last minute to decide to prep is doubly so.
