In 2018, slaughterhouses, factory farms, and smaller farms killed around 2.27 million sheep in the US alone. Most of these sheep were young lambs who went to their premature deaths so we could eat their meat.

And...?????
Yep, I remember seeing it in the daily newspaper.
I believe the Democrat party has found some cheap mutton for sale to the highest donor.
You noticed that, too?
Sure whine about the lamb’s life being cut short and then go kill preborn babies.
My favorite dinners as a kid. Passover with roast leg of lamb and mint jelly and Thanksgiving with cranberry sauce.
I had lamb at a restaurant recently. It was so dry that it was uneatable.
Their deaths were not in the least premature. They were exactly at the right time to produce lamb meat.
Don't you want lamb, baby?
Their biggest hit was “Don’t You Want Me?”
Sort of an Archies meet Devo feel.
We stopped going to Outback when they dropped the rack of lamb from the menu
Leg of Lamb was one of my mother’s favorite dinners to cook on Sundays with mint jelly.
If that is what your conscience dictates, then that is what you should do. However, 1 Corinthians 8 makes it clear that there is nothing inherently sinful about eating meat sacrilege to idols. The only issue arises if by doing so (publicly) you cause a weaker brother to stumble.
“COSTCO lamb is halal.”
They sell a halal leg of lamb online but their instore rack is not marked as halal.
And darn good meat it is.
Hummus and ground lamb. Oh yea. My wife is searching grape leaves recipes that make them the right way, with lamb & mint.
The injunction applies if it’s done knowingly, too.
Of course, Allah has no idols constructed to him save the black stone in the ka’aba in Mecca. He is however a false god no matter how much the Mahometans claim he is the god of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses et al.
I raised sheep in Wisconsin for 15 years. 200 bred ewes. Anywhere from 225 to 300 lambs. They all went to the restaurant trade suppliers every year. The supplier comes to you, scores your lambs with ultrasound on loins, legs, shoulders. Then they put it out for bids. The trailers come right to your farm to pick them up around Thanksgiving time.
The pastures become bare, covered in snow, and you can't afford to lose $1.50 per pound by letting them age into mutton. 250 lambs without pastures grasses eat #1,500 to #2,000 pounds of hay (stored feeds) per day. Nope.....Ain't possible. We would only keep ewe lambs from triplet moms for replacement of culled ewes that were too old or had mastitis, etc ...
Yes we had lamb chops too on a more or less frequent basis. Tasty, with a mint jelly garnish.
Isn’t our country half-full of sheep??
In our area which is metro Atlanta unless things have changed since I last looked its all halal. I’ll check it out next time we’re there. They changed their organic chicken breasts to halal also. Now all we buy there is steak and ground beef.
