After weeks of quiet, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) is watching a tropical disturbance in the Atlantic Ocean.
Located east of the Lesser Antilles, this disturbance is expected to interact with an approaching tropical wave during the next several days, according to the NHC.
There is a medium chance that the disturbance will develop, but the odds have been increasing over the weekend.
“Environmental conditions are forecast to become conducive for some development in a day or two, and a tropical depression could form around midweek while the system is near or over the northern Leeward Islands, Greater Antilles or southwestern Atlantic Ocean,” the NHC said in its latest outlook.

I was on Barbados when Beryl came through.
Everyone panicked. Earliest hurricane ever. The season was going to be bad. Very bad. And when Beryl was approaching, Chris had already formed. OMG. Climate change would kill us all with an unending parade of massive storms.
We still haven’t seen a “D” storm yet. The season is closer to a dud than it is to an apocalypse.
Only if it’s a small medium at large!
Not to worry. Neither NOAA nor anyone else, will be held to account for their false climate change-driven forecast for this season

For the last decade or so they’ve been predicting on a yearly bases the ‘most active’ storm season ever... And every year they’ve been wrong, including this one. It’s the end of July and other than one storm that caused a bit of damage, this year like the other years has been a bust. One of these years they’ll get it right... It just won’t be this year... Again.
An apocalyptic dud for the fear mongers!
So far the season is a dud and summer is normal, hot.
