(Jul. 22, 2024) — Trump will have the legal standing in federal courts to do so if she is nominated for that office by the DNC. And Trump should do so to force SCOTUS to take up the issue of the “natural born Citizen” term as it applies to whom can constitutionally serve as the President and Commander in Chief (and VP per the 12th Amendment) and resolve it. The courts evaded the issue using “lack of standing by the plaintiffs” for Obama and then also for Harris for VP. They should not do that again. Former Chief Justice Marshall‘s words from the past tell them they should not evade the issue.

Here’s the issue. Birth to two non-citizens makes you a citizen of the parents’ country. You cannot hold any exclusive allegiance to one country when there is another that has your split allegiance.
This is what the founders had in mind by that requirement.
I brought this up yesterday and a freeper basically said “she’s eligible” and “the courts won’t touch it”.

Right you are. This whole “natural born” thing makes for an interesting theoretical discussion. But practically, it’s a dead issue. Dead and buried. It died the day Obama was elected. No court intervened then. No court will intervene now.
As you noted, focus on the issues.
Joe Six-Pack doesn’t care what “natural born” really means. He cares about how inflation is destroying his paycheck. And he cares about how illegals are flooding the border then committing crimes.

Not following through in 2008 made it all but impossible to do it now, regardless of how ineligible she may be.
Similarly, failing to avenge the screw in 2020 and 2022 has made crying foul in elections a non starter.
