I spoke with my wife's aunt today who is visiting us in Texas from Washington State. For the record, she is a kind, understanding and great aunt to my family but when the topic flipped to the Biden resignation, a few things came out about the Left Wing mind.
The immediate things that were said were:
Trump cut taxes for the rich Citizens United case was the first time crony capitalism came into existence She wants Kamala because she really, really wants a female President. She likes Kamala OK, no qualms about her ability Trump had a sharp shooter to get sympathy (injure not kill) Canada has great healthcare Immigration isn't a big deal She thinks Adam Schiff should run for President, he's smart with good ideas and reaches across the aisle

When you reach the point that you actually believe that a man can become a woman you have become literally insane. The true definition of insanity (not the one often attributed to Einstein) is disconnection from reality. Leftists now truly believe a number of things that are obviously contrary to objective reality, and they react viciously to any attempt to lead them to the truth.

I have family members who are that deluded.
One was literally shaking with fear at the thought that Trump might win the 2016 election.
What I’m reading in this thread is that a lot of people on our side are ashamed to defend their position and Trump. Shameful. All liberal family or friends know exactly what I believe and if they can’t handle it, they can learn to cope.
There are only two topics that I avoid discussing with friends and relatives: abortion & politics. I’ve seen too many fires that the LIBERAL ones can get really nasty, and they don’t want to deal with me anymore. Sad - especially with relatives.
You are describing my 97 year old mother-in-law. I love her with all of my heart, but politically she believes everything NPR or MSNBC says.
I have a cousin (female) in San Fran. She is uber liberal. Refuses to leave despite all the chaos in that city. She has zero economic sense and will readily admit it. Once she went on a rant against big oil at my father who worked for an oil company. He asked her where does she think the gasoline come from to power her cute little car. She quickly changed subjects. Ignorant and arrogant person.
Have her hire a sniper to shoot a pea off her scalp at 150 yds.

Don't forget the schools also. Conservatives ceded control of the schools to leftists a long time ago and now the majority childhood is spent in what is essentially an indoctrination camp. By the time they walk out of high school they're so brainwashed that any hope of deprogramming them is gone.

When Sotomayor was up for the Supreme Court I pointed out to my brother-in-law that she did not have proper judicial qualifications to serve on the court. His response was that her rulings as a wise Latina were Superior to actual judical qualifications. Her ethnicity was more important than her lack of judicial experience and qualification
