Hard to believe but this weekend it will be 25 years since I joined Free Republic. Time sure flies when you're having fun.

Same here. May 18th, 1998. I didn’t even think about my Silver Anniversary.
Can you imagine what last Saturday would have been like if it was in 1998. 3 hour page loads easily

Jim Robinson started Free Republic because Prodigy began clamping down on us posting copyrighted content. The rest is history.
Congrats! I’m going to hit my 20-year anniversary in September. Started lurking just after 9/11. Was very reassuring to find such common sense and insight in a time of turmoil. Took a few years to finally sign up but I can confidently say that the bulk of my internet time right here. One of these days I may even post a link!
