French trade unionists are threatening to bring chaos to the Paris Olympics as dancers signed up to perform filed a strike notice just one week before the opening ceremony, citing low pay and 'glaring inequalities in treatment'.
With just a week to go until the lavish boat procession down the River Seine, available tickets cost between £700 and £2,200, with hospitality packages more than £3000.
Such figures for a ceremony lasting less than four hours have incensed the unions, who say that profits are not being shared with ordinary workers.

Sunk in costs.
If I were the French government, immediately give them better pay and then tax it back at the end of the year.
Their Deep State is, anyway.
How do we know the French really voted for this?
Tell them to go jump in the Seine.
Give them a whiff of the grape.
Fire them and hire air traffic controllers.
We’ve quit changing planes in Paris/CDG because the French strike at the drop of a hat and for sport. This despite the opportunity for Air France code shares with Delta and the nice bubbly they serve.
We figure out ways to get where we’re going using either JFK or Schiphol. No CDG.
The French having issues executing on the Olympics due to strikes or threat thereof would be par for the course.
You mean the Muslim workers in the Islamic Republic of France are unhappy? Again?
Oh well. Haven’t watched the Olympics in decades. Way too many theatrics from my taste. Just shut up and compete.
They still have Olympic Games? Who knew?
It’s getting harder and harder to find cities where the leaders are dumb enough to even want to host the Olympics.
Yeah, that layers on top of the French propensity to strike.
Who cares?

Aw, heck. Thanks to Biden’s economic policies, I was only able to budget £2800 for an Olympic hospitality package this year. So I guess I’m staying home.
But on the plus side, the local Sons of Italy club still has spaghetti dinners for $8, even if you’re not a member. So I’ll be there instead of Paris.
Believe it or not, shortly after WW2, Japan was having similar, but worse, problems with labor strikes. The US Occupation Authority (or whatever they were called) had a bunch of Socialists write Japan’s Constitution, and it got to the point of a General Strike, fully shutting down the country, was going to occur (with people already starving). So General Macarthur FINALLY concluded that something needed to be done to fix things. He tweaked their Constitution, and that was the end of labor unrest in Japan, to this day.
Sometimes problems are actually EASY to fix, if someone will step up.
Didn’t they do the SAME thing just before the 1528 Olympics?..
Sock Ray Blue
Yup! My reaction, just Frenchmen being French.
CDG was always a mess under the best of circumstances. Schiphol or Munich much better.
