Inhofe, 89, served in the Oklahoma Legislature, as mayor of Tulsa, in the U.S. House of Representatives and in the the United States Senate. Funeral services are pending.
Inhofe was the definition of a career politician, had served in the U. S. Senate since late 1994. He was is the longest-serving U.S. Senator in Oklahoma history. Before the Senate, he was a member of the U.S. House for eight years. Prior to that he spent four years as mayor of Tulsa and 10 years in the Oklahoma Legislature. “Inhofe was the definition of a career politician,”
Put it on his tombstone.
Like many on our side, he started out good.
He was a great Senator and a fierce fighter against climate cultists. RIP.
until he wasn’t- i had emailed him and got a response when i ran a blog on climate change nonsense- he was truly a fierce fighter in the day- but something happened to him- and he turned- He had a fella workign with him, Marc Morano who now runs climatedepot
it is chockerblock full of science refuting man’s involvement- actual science-
No mention of him ever having a real job. If so, I missed it.
56 years in one profession is quite impressive.
I'd prefer term limits, but people like him will never allow it.
He started off better than he finished. But, he was always a protector of our freedoms as general aviation pilots and motorcyclists. I think his family background is one with ranching in it.
Everyone’s life has some tragedy. He was a good pilot and so was his son. However, a few years ago his adult son died in a Mitsubishi MU-2 turboprop that was new to him. Unlike Biden, he didn’t bring it up in every speech.
Term limits are every six years for senator and every two years for representatives. We as voters can kick them out anytime.
Started out well, then oil people made him theirs. Oh and who can forget how the Repubs just accepted Bin Laden was dead... from “evidence” never shared with the US public. Inhofe came out of the closed door briefing and said— “Yes, that was him”... and just like that muzzie in chief got his story. Bin laden might be dead now, but it would be from kidney disease and diabetes no longer compensated by daily/hourly dialysis. He had a dialysis machine in the caves of Tora Bora. US made dialyisis machine. We blew up the caves of Tora Bora— however, intel people on the ground KNEW bin laden escaped (and they say it is because we let him do so!).
Oh well so long Sen. Inhofe , team player.
Want to read about a real Intel Senate disaster— look up Boren. Fat demonrat liar.
Incumbents have a rigged system they benefit from. If we had a level playing field I would not support term limits.
Rest In Peace, Jim.
I don’t disagree.
But I think these guys need a hobby or something to keep their interest. Something they can do when they retire.
People in their 80’s should to be making rules and laws that they won’t have to live with. At some point the person in office should recognize that it’s their time to retire and go fishing.
What happened to older people recognizing that their time has passed?
This ignores the massive benefit of incumbency. Because they have power, they can fund raise with all these shady industries that might want some sort of legislation, and they can walk into a campaign with ten times, sometimes a hundred times the funding any challenger can manage.
Washington DC is a cartel, and we need anti-cartel laws. Term limits should be one of them.
If it's a good idea for the President, why would it not be a good idea for Senators and Congressmen?
I point out that Alexandria Ocasio Cortez went to DC complaining she couldn't afford the rent, and now she's worth 10 million dollars in just a few years.
The system is corrupt, and it needs more constraints put on Congressmen and Senators.
That guy was so nice to me.
I met him at The Petroleum Club in Tulsa and he introduced to many leaders in industry and politics.
Rest in Peace
This is the legacy of the most childish and most spoiled generation. Though they are in their 70s, 80s, and 90s, they still want to behave like children.
I don’t understand. You said you emailed him and got a response. What was the response? Is your criticism that he wasn’t interested in your blog? No offense, but I’m sure people contact politicians trying to hawk their material all the time.
