Term limits are every six years for senator and every two years for representatives. We as voters can kick them out anytime.

Incumbents have a rigged system they benefit from. If we had a level playing field I would not support term limits.

I don’t disagree.

But I think these guys need a hobby or something to keep their interest. Something they can do when they retire.

People in their 80’s should to be making rules and laws that they won’t have to live with. At some point the person in office should recognize that it’s their time to retire and go fishing.

What happened to older people recognizing that their time has passed?

This ignores the massive benefit of incumbency. Because they have power, they can fund raise with all these shady industries that might want some sort of legislation, and they can walk into a campaign with ten times, sometimes a hundred times the funding any challenger can manage.

Washington DC is a cartel, and we need anti-cartel laws. Term limits should be one of them.

If it's a good idea for the President, why would it not be a good idea for Senators and Congressmen?

I point out that Alexandria Ocasio Cortez went to DC complaining she couldn't afford the rent, and now she's worth 10 million dollars in just a few years.

The system is corrupt, and it needs more constraints put on Congressmen and Senators.
