For the youngins out there, Max was a minor hit nearly 40 years ago, and with all the AI gossip swirling about Biden, it's amazing how much Max Headroom looks like a young Biden.

One of my good friends was the main editor on that show. I loved that show, it was so delightfully weird.

That's cool to hear!
Matt Frewer is an excellent actor. He's very expressive and plays mania very well.

For those who didn’t know, the name Max Headroom came from a UK highway sign indicating clearance of an overhead bridge.

From the Wikipedia article on Max Headroom:
Max was advertised as "computer-generated", and some believed this, but he was actually actor Frewer wearing prosthetic makeup, contact lenses, and a plastic moulded suit, and sitting in front of a blue screen. Harsh lighting and other editing and recording effects heighten the illusion of a CGI character.
According to his creators, Max's personality was meant to be a satirical exaggeration of the worst tendencies of television hosts in the 1980s who wanted to appeal to youth culture, yet were not a part of it.
Really very impressive what they did WITHOUT computer generated effects.

I loved the show as well. haven’t thought of it much in years but now that we have Joe Dementia, I can see some stuttering similarities.

He also had a role in
Star Trek: The Next Generation as Berlinghoff Rasmussen, a light fingered time traveler. This was especially difficult, since the role had been written for Robin Williams.
