June 25 (UPI) -- The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation apologized for a highway sign that misspelled the world "Central" as "Cenrtal."
Drivers on Cottman Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia noticed the new sign directing travelers to southbound Interstate 95 read, "Cenrtal Phila," and photos of the sign quickly went viral Monday.
PennDOT apologized Tuesday on social media.
"We were so focused on getting this done and reopening the 95 Cottman ramp that we moved a little too quickly... and forgot to proofread. Sorry, Philadelphia," the post said.
The post was accompanied by a photo of the corrected "Central Phila" sign.
DEI?
Probably an illegal…just saying. Remember according to the unemployment numbers FJB had over expectation employment #’s. Then later we found out that a lot of those jobs were from illegals who took the part-time jobs from Americans.
Bet money that the seasoned pro retired not long ago and was replaced by a Didn’t Earn It (DEI) token.
I don't blame the underlings. Call out Didn't Earn It (DEI) promoted staff and you'll be called racist and possibly fired.
For a while we had ‘51th Ave’. It did get fixed.
I bet that got hairy.
Is that near Cenrter City? 🤔
Reminds me of the “Shcool Zone” I saw painted on the street one time.
Pingy...
Unfortunately, the secretary mistyped it, no one caught it, and the official reply was sent back to HQ as "Connur". That became the source of several long-running jokes around the base.
They could have easily & quickly fashioned a laminated facsimilie to correct the error until a new sign is ready.
A professional sign shop could have matched the area in hours and it’s temporarily fixed in one day.
DEI at it’s finest.
In a police journal, someone included the saying “the pen is mightier than the sword,” only omitted the space between “pen” and “is.”
Was sign designed by a DEI employee?
Some years ago Chicago or one of the Chicago suburbs decided to name a street in honor of Nikola Tesla. This was when he was not as well known as today and long before Tesla cars. When the sign was made they spelled it Telsa. After a while someone noticed the error but the people on the street didn’t want the name corrected—so I think it remained Telsa St.
