FRANCE (WKRC) - A disabled woman is upset that her employer failed to give her any work for 20 years, despite still paying her full salary.
Laurence Van Wassenhove has filed a lawsuit against her former employer, Orange, a large telecommunications company. She claims she was paid her full salary for 20 years without receiving any work. Van Wassenhove is accusing Orange of intentionally barring her from working after she attempted to transfer to a different part of the company due to her disability.
Van Wassenhove initially joined Orange in 1993 as a secretary and human resources representative, as it accommodated her partial paralysis and epilepsy. In 2002, she attempted to transfer within the company and was approved. She alleges her employer stopped assigning her tasks at that point due to her inadequate performance in the new position. Despite this, they did not stop paying her salary.
Orange disputes the claim, arguing that they did what they could to accommodate Van Wassenhove's conditions but faced difficulty because of her frequent need to take off work.

So is she suing them for paying her for not working and the result will be they will pay her even more for paying her to do nothing.

She suffered no harm and did nothing for 20 years to remedy the situation herself.
She could have found other employment.
