@RepThomasMassie
@JeffClarkUS succinctly sums up the point I made with AG Garland. Special Counsel offices are unconstitutional and not even authorized by Congress. Judge Cannon should throw out the case against Trump by ruling that Jack Smith’s appointment was outside of the law.

Smith was not nominated by Biden ✅
Was not confirmed by the U.S. Senate✅
There is no Special Counsel Statute ✅
THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN SAID @ YEARS AGO, DUMBASS!!
I saw this earlier and it is GREAT!!!!
It’s June 23rd.
This has been known for going on one year.
What took so long?
Oops my bad
He was indicted in Aug 2023,
Smith was appointed in Nov 2022.
The office of the Deputy U.S. Attorney General, for example, was established through a DOJ internal administrative action back in 1950.
With each passing day I am more convinced that the entire DOJ needs to be disbanded. It serves no legitimate function in the U.S. at all.
dumbMassie is a little slow on the uptake

I agree.
Eliminate the DOJ completely or cut 99% of their budget, either way a bunch of democrat lawyer hacks will be looking for new employment.(Most likely at the state level.)
Yep. Stating the obvious after the fact when it’s way too late to do anything in a cynical attempt to gain political points. He’s a Constitutionalist ya know that stands by idly while The Constitution is being shredded. Very strange.
And yet, Massie is the only to speak out about this. And you call him the "dumbass?"
YES!!! They are ALL SLOW FOOTED!!
Reminds me of Pelosi changing House Rule so she could appoint which R's would sit on special committees. She was several moves ahead of McCarthy and he essentially just whimpered.
I hate to say this, but technically, she followed the existing House rules but she did play her power cards against McCarthy -- something McCarthy would never do when he held the cards.
Nancy Pelosi invoked a special "speaker" rule when she formed that committee.
The committee was authorized by House Resolution H.R. 503 - Establishing the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol.
This resolution establishes in the House of Representatives the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol. The select committee must (1) conduct an investigation of the relevant facts and circumstances relating to the attack on the Capitol; (2) identify, review, and evaluate the causes of and the lessons learned from this attack; and (3) submit a report containing findings, conclusions, and recommendations to prevent future acts of violence, domestic terrorism, and domestic violent extremism, and to improve the security of the U.S. Capitol Complex and other American democratic institutions.
The select committee consists of 13 Members of the House appointed by the Speaker; 5 must be appointed after consultation with the minority leader. The resolution gives the select committee specified powers, including the authority to hold hearings, receive evidence, and issue subpoenas. It also requires other House committees to share relevant records with the select committee within 14 days of the resolution's adoption or receipt of such records.
The normal House rule on committees is this:
RULE I. - The Speaker11. The Speaker shall appoint all select, joint, and conference committees ordered by the House. At any time after an original appointment, the Speaker may remove Members, Delegates, or the Resident Commissioner from, or appoint additional Members, Delegates, or the Resident Commissioner to, a select or conference committee. In appointing Members, Delegates, or the Resident Commissioner to conference committees, the Speaker shall appoint no less than a majority who generally supported the House position as determined by the Speaker, shall name those who are primarily responsible for the legislation, and shall, to the fullest extent feasible, include the principal proponents of the major provisions of the bill or resolution passed or adopted by the House.
Pelosi appointed Liz Cheney as the ranking Republican member of the committee and allowed Kevin McCarthy to appoint five Republicans. McCarthy appointed Jim Jordan, Jim Banks, Rodney Davis, Kelly Armstrong, and Try Nehls to the J6 committee. Pelosi then rejected Jordan and Banks. After that, McCarthy removed the remaining Republicans from the committee. Pelosi then named Adam Kinzinger as the second Republican on the committee.

biggest pubbie problem is their balls are the size of gnat balls.
just like any challenges to voter irregularities not allowed in court because of lack of standing or wrong court etc..
DEMOCRATS ARE LAW-LESS BECAUSE REPUBLICANS ARE BALL-LESS!
Didn’t an appeals court say Mueller who also was not confirmed by the Senate valid?
I said Pelosi changed the House Rules...
You say she invoked a "special speaker" rule when she formed that committee...
You further say Pelosi followed exiting House Rules and labled them the normal rules when they were in fact Rules Pelosi altered when she became Speaker and deleted the Minority chambers traditional right to decide who it would appoint.
What is it specifically and as succinctly as possible that you "hate to say"?
Second, you say that "I say" when I actually cited the House resolution establishing the J6 Commission with the rules for naming the members of the commission.
Third, you again say that "I say" when I quoted (without citation) the House "RULE I - The Speaker" that lays out the Speaker's power regarding committee assignments.
In order to avoid flooding you with irrelevancies, why don't you first address what the rules are in the actual resolution and in the House rules, and then provide your own citation as to which rule Pelosi "altered when she became Speaker" so that we can both be discussing this from the same frame of reference?
What is it specifically and as succinctly as possible that you "hate to say"?
That Pelosi was following the letter of the rules.
Now it's your turn. Show me the altered rules.

He’s a far-left Dung Beetle. They can do whatever they want. Ask the jerk in the White House.
Ok, I maintain she misread the letter of the rules and assumed more authority than was granted to her.
Now it's your turn. Show me the altered rules.
I will concede for the moment that you may be correct, since the prior Subcommittee rules that could be used for comparison don’t immediately pop up on my search of government archives.
Nonetheless, even if pre-Pelosi editions of the Rules contained similar language and there was no alteration by Pelosi as I claimed, it is clear to me she violated the letter, meaning and intent of the Rules used by her party for her Speakership. That is clear to many national observers and it is a shame (as you opine) that McCarthy left it simply as “an egregious abuse of power”.
Those rules gave her the authority to hire and fire at her pleasure. But the rules did obligate her to “consult with the Minority leader”. His role at the least was to nominate members from his party. She could fire them immediately (which may have been why he stopped nominating them) but nowhere did she have the right to select them.
Finally, she was obligated to strike a balance of majority and minority reps that approximately reflected the balance of power by each party in the House. With that obligation she was bound to accept at least some number of Minority members. She did, but only after she selected them as having a public record of being anti-Trump. (A more productive move for McCarthy to have taken her down to the last few R members who were the most notable Rino's making sure the American public was aware of her pettiness.)
Instead of using “altered”, I should have used “intentionally and patently misused”, but it was a busy weekend.
Most importantly, what I did use in the post you jumped in on arguably conveyed the same meaning.
Have a nice week.
