I remember Sutherland as Reverend Dupas in the film "Little Murders":
Rev. Dupas: First, let me state to you, Alfred, and to you, Patricia, that of the 200 marriages I have performed, all but seven have failed. So the odds are not good.

He was a villain in one of my favorite episodes of The Avengers, too. A young Charlotte Rampling also featured in it.

Good Riddance. Maybe this will become a trend.

He also played a great villain as William H. Macy's controlling, hit-man father in Panic. Highly recommended movie.

Kelly’s heroes was actually a rather stupid make believe movie set in WW2. And Sutherland’s character looking like a hippie in a tanker uniform didn’t help.
WW2 vets I knew that served in Europe felt that way, and I repected them.

Yeah, I didn’t think it was a documentary.
Hogan’s Heroes, 1965-‘71, The Producers, 1967, and Kelly’s Heroes, 1970, marked a time when humor could be found in pop culture expressions of the events 20-25 years previous.

I should clarify: my father-in-law (B-24 waist gunner, DFC) had a brother that was a tank commander under Patton in Europe. His brother supposedly told my fil he never saw any tanker that looked even remotely like Suntherland did in that movie.
Although my fil admitted the movie had it funny moments, it was just so far fetched.

And let’s not forget his performance as Oddball in Kelly’s Heroes.

He was a much better Hawkeye than Alan Alda.

Yes, and most of what Sutherland as Col. Prouty said in that five minute segment about the JFK assassination was true and verifiable.
