But at beloved East Hampton delicatessen the Red Horse Market, they’re charging $120 per pound for the delicacy. So what? No one is forced to buy it. If rich Hamptonites want to pay for it, that is their preogative.

We went on an Alaskan cruise last summer and Alaskan King Crab was $75/pound...IN ALASKA!
One restauranteur explained that there were prohibitions against taking Alaskan crab to let the populations rebound, so the “Alaskan” king crab was imported from Norway.
Talk about a major disappointment!

Publix’s $5 Wednesday sushi used to be quite good, but inflation has cut the quality to unacceptable (for me). Now I wait for Publix ice cream to go on sale 2-for-$10...

What is a ‘serving’ of lobster salad? Maybe 4 ounces?
30 bucks for a salad isn’t unreal in ritzy land. Salads for $20 aren’t unusual in any upscale place anywhere. DC places catering to Congress and bureaucrats are similar.

A pound of lobster salad - like a sick chicken - is worth what someone will give you for it.

I thought lobster had hit all time lows in price just a few years ago. This 120/pound BS is what’s killing the economy. Pricing everyone and everything into recession. This greed for the moment is going to plunge the economy into a big recession/ depression. We never really fixed 2007/2008 just kicked the can. Corporate greed is off the charts. All time record profits and wages stagnate or more offshoring. Very shortsighted.

I don’t have to buy it.
That’s the beauty of the free market.
