HOUSTON – The city of Houston kicked off the President George H. W. Bush’s 100th birthday week celebration at the Bush Monument in downtown Houston.
The program featured Houston Mayor John Whitmire, the Bush family, Jim “Mattress Mac” McIngvale, emcee Linda Lorelle, Houston First CEO Michael Heckman, and a tribute from the Houston Police Department.
The event started at 10 a.m. and a pre-event performance by the Bushes’ favorite local music organization, the Theater Under the Stars Musical Theatre Academy Ensemble began at 9:50 a.m.
The event was sponsored by the George & Barbara Bush Foundation and the Houston First Corporation.
George H. W. Bush actual birthday is June 12. He died at the age of 94 on Nov. 30, 2018

Pretty good guy but bad President. At least he had more sense or better advisers than he son, and didn’t get us in another prolonged war.
Junior must have gotten back into strong drink; disappeared at the end of his Presidency. His war mongering and economic mismanagement brought us Barack Milhous Obama’s Presidency.

Mixed record as President, but at least he gave us Clarence Thomas on the Supreme Court. (His other nominee was David Souter, who waited to retire until there was a Democrat President.)
When I worked there I surrendered and bought a house with a pool but that’s been a few years and I’m north of the red river now where I belong. It’s just hot as hell down there the older I get the hotter it seems
