If you believe that there is nothing anyone can say to explain how this stuff works. You have fixed a delusion in your brain. And that not be changed.

Dave Portnoy slams ‘unreal dumb’ Caitlin Clark 2024 Olympics snub that stunned sports world

“How dumb are these people?” Portnoy added. “Never complain about women salaries ever again. Make that team fly commercial. Unreal dumb.”

I do agree that Clark on the team will cause a disruption.

I've been retired for some years now. During my working career, I've been on both sides of the fence. I was promoted early and many people resented it. Later in my career, it was the opposite.

But no one is going to give a $#it about this team. All the female athletes are like Megan Rapinoe. But with CC on the team, maybe we'll tune in for the games and root for USA.

By the way, Megan Rapinoe retired from soccer last year...I thought that she might try to play in Olympics this year...But, she eventually decided not to...

She’s old now. So her skills are not what they used to be.

Seriously, of all the athletes going to the Games, she would have been by far the most famous name. You have to know somebody at NBC is on the phone to the Olympic Committee, as we speak.

How about Simone Biles? She will probably be on the US gymnastics team...She is famous...By they way, she is black...She is not a lesbian...She is married to an NFL player...

Sabrina Ionescu is married to an NFL player with the Raiders, she’s on the Women’s team.

Kelsey Plum was married to an NFL player...But, she is divorcing him...

Yeah, there are a lot better and more refined players in the WNBA. Of course they could of pulled a cynical profit taking/ratings grabbing move of adding her to the team but I am glad the OC maintained some type of dignity.

Rookies in the WNBA have the worst time adjusting. Most gals are coming off March Madness season lasting into early April and the draft, then bang, season starts in May. Not much of an off-season rest, then you are facing seasoned pros, tough adjustment.

US Women’s BB took Gold 6-0 record

2020 Team: Kahleah Copper Chelsea Gray *A’ja Wilson *Breanna Stewart Diana Taurasi *Brittney Griner Alyssa Thomas Napheesa Collier Jewell Loyd Kelsey Plum Jackie Young Sabrina Ionescu

Asterisk indicates the “gals in the 2024 team from 2020. You’re welcome. The only name in the article that I recognize is Caitlin Clark. ;-)

Still a rookie, technically. And you see that in the stats.

She's a rookie on the worst team in the league. She's not gonna get much support, and as a team player, she's not soloing the games. plus she's been heavily targeted. I wouldn't expect her stats to be too great at this point.

“You mean their only asset.”

Actually their biggest single funding source for the WNBA is the NBA. The WNBA annually brings in about $200M. The NBA, on the other hand, brings in around $10B. The founder of the WNBA were former NBA commissioner David Stern and other owners of the NBA teams. So spreading the wealth to both leagues is sound business for the pro basketball community in the US. However, the current welfare coming from the men’s league is around $1M a team, or in the area of $12M. It doesn’t cover the shortfall.

So what. Again the people in charge of building the US Olympic teams does not have TV ratings in their job list. They literally DO NOT CARE. Their job is to get gold medals. PERIOD. Rating, no ratings, DO NOT CARE.

Catlin should leave the US and play in the EU or for Israel. Screw the US WNBA.

"Are any of the players going to the Olympics straight and white?"

Check out the members of the selection committee for the women’s USA Olympic basketball team.

Any other questions?!?
